Carrie and I talked to Diane early august and offered our trip; we talked it over and came up with the afternoon on Saturday. We didn’t know you where planning on your trip then?
I don’t know how formal or informal Rendezvous is, this will be our first time attending. We thought it would be nice to offer a clam 3 or 4 hour paddle around the lake,

Dave from Mohawk Canoes also asked if I would not mind bring people out while they demo some of his canoes. I planned on making this an easy paced paddle; the group will decide where to go and how fast they want to get there. I’m just along for the ride I guess ;)

We didn’t mean to step on anyone’s toes, or try to take over. I guess we can chat with Diane at some point and clear up times and dates. I figured it was already up on this years web sight it was sort of set… guess not.

Anyways, The trip that Carrie and I planned on leading for anyone who would like to join us, will be leaving from Camp after lunch, so if lunch is at 12, say between 1245 and 100pm (1300 if you are like me ;) ) We will have a nice topo map we all can look at and decide where we want to go, and if anyone would like a copy I will have extras. I have a few Ideas I will put out there before we leave. I would like to be back between 4 and 430 at the latest… maybe even 5 because I will be teaching a origami class to anyone who would like to learn some new folds!

Good Paddling

No toes are injured here. Just confused about three different trips looking at the same time slot. I had mentioned getting my geoching trip on the lake at our board meeting. I failed to let Diane know that the trip was a definate go. Jim Kruger also said he would like to lead a trip as he usually does at every Rendezvous so I asked him to join forces.

I think that it's great that you are leading a trip and I was just sending you an invitation to join with us. Maybe I should have asked to join you. :) This has been a bit confused since our Rendezvous Chairman had his near fatal accident. Diane has been doing a great job taking up the slack. It is my fault that I did not communicate very clearly. Please just bare with us.

If you want to join us that would be great or if you had rather take a separate group along a different route, that is ok too.

It's really just about a bunch of us getting out on the water and having fun.

Miss understanding all the way around, words always sound so much different in your head! I think a huge trip would be a good idea, with that many people in a group, a few different leaders would be better than too few!

So how about I offer this to you guys, Because Dave asked me to take out some people who where going to demo his canoes, I can take the people who would like to go on a paddle, still would like to see some of the Geo Cash event but keep the nice slow easy pace I had planned on  Of course I still need to plan on being back around 430, 5ish.

That way, the people going for that big prize wont need to worry about battling though a group of people there just to watch (but that could also be fun :o ) and the people testing out the canoes wont have to worry about "you break it you buy it  " And when ever some one gets tired, they dont have to worry about paddling home alone!

The map offer is still on the table, I will see how much it would cost for 100 prints of maps and bring them with me, I will see about putting key locations on it as well, such as the falls, the camp, the dams, and such, (carrie and I love a good map  )

anyways, sorry for the miss understanding, and yes we will join your group and be the slow ones around the lake

It is very easy - get off at exit 97 (off I-30) and head towards Lake Catherine. Camp Couchdale will be on the left before you get to Lake Catherine State Park.

3. Turn right at AR-171 N
Destination will be on the left 8.6 mi

N34.42825 W92.9634 if you have a GPS
(this is the turn into the area, the actual camp is at N34.4303 W92.9674)

Sorry if I am being reading impaired but we're trying to figure out how to volunteer (or who to contact for it). No specialty skills here, but we can get there early Fri and help with registration or something...

Ann, we can definitely use you at the pool. PM or email me to let me know what times you will be available .... Thanks!

Jaytee - I'm sure they could use your help with registration or perhaps silent auction stuff. Email or PM me your contact information and I will pass it along to those who might need your help.

THANKS!

Is there a fee for camping at the site or is it included in the $15 fee for the ACC? I promise I read everywhere before I asked.

Hello all, I'm looking forward to my first Rendezvous. I invited a handful of people from the Russelville area, but all my canoe friend have declined. so I hope to run into folks I know, and if not make some new friends at least. also this will be my first time entering a Dutch oven cook off, I think I have a good recipe.

looking forward to a great weekend!
