correct "alleged" is the proper term. My apologies for not being correct in my view of what happened. We will not know what crime they committed if any till the law runs it's course.

however, they had the stolen raft "in their hands". Not sure what the legal description should be but for sure these folks have a lot of explaining as to how the raft ended up under their control.

I can't tell you folks that were involved in getting our raft back yesterday how much we appreciate everything that ya'll did. It is now in custody of the Cossatot State Park as evidence and the "alleged" boatnabbers are also in custody. My internet has been down. After reading the post on the mssg board it sounds like it was quite an ordeal on that end. We were sitting here yesterday, the 2nd Sat in a row that Piney has been too high to put canoes in, and I got a call from M.J. asking about the color of the lace in our raft. She had to drive to get cell service in order to get the info needed for the Park Ranger. Bless her! This turned in to an afternoon of phone calls to our sheriff's dept, the Howard Co. sheriff's dept, and the Park Rangers, not to mention M.J. keeping me posted as best as she could and A.M. who I kept calling to see what was going on. We were headed to the Cossatot at 3:00 pm, but they called back and said they would have to keep it for evidence. No problem, what ever it takes to keep them from walking. Like I told M.J. yesterday...thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you..........each and everyone of you. You all could have just as easily walked away and not got involved. We will never forget this. And thank you to everyone who kept an eye out for us. It was unreal the number of e-mails, calls, etc from folks that we got. I know that all you folks with a blue 12' Star Waterbug are glad that the raft has been found. I know of one or two buddies that have been eyeballed lately. Will let everyone know how this progresses. Again, thanks and God bless you all! Stay safe out there!

That's pretty bada$$ that everyone worked together like this and that the
"alleged" didn't even have the raft for long before we busted their sorry butts. Thugs! Don't mess w. the ACC!!

Can someone print up a t-shirt that has a picture of those dudes getting arrested on the front, and on the back of the shirt have a big "Don't mess with Texas" style logo that says "Don't mess w. the ACC!!" We can replace the outline of the state w. a logo of a big blue raft.

I think this is a victory not for just the ACC, but for our boating community as a whole. Even our friends down on the PaddleTexas board, who generally don't speak too highly of the ACC, were posting "be on the outlook" messages about this raft. When it comes to this raft, just like it is when anyone is in trouble, we were all on the same team. May it be so more in the future.

yep....that and the internets....and cell phones. So, we must also give thanks to Al Gore (who invented the www) and Star Trek (who led the way to cordless phones and fancy paddling clothes).

It is good to hear the raft was found. I received news through facebook of the recovery. Immediately images of half-drunken, wholly-sunburned frat boys in flip-flops showing up at the falls with the raft appeared in my head. Did they stick out of the crowd at all? This has to be an entertaining story. Let's hear the details!

Just got back from the Cossatot with stolen raft back in our possession. What a trip, rained hard on us the entire way. What a trip and didn't even get to get on the river. All the creeks were bigger and browner when we were headed back. Thanks again to everyone involved in the recovery.
