OK, this is a bit off topic but pertains to my trip to Ark. I have a mini van (Honda) that is great at carrying lots of boats and paddlers and travels nice on the highway. However it is not much into rough roads as it has lower ground clearance than a rattlesnake. Will this be a liability for getting to many of the put ins and take outs? I bet this varies from run to run. I am noticing many logging roads refrenced in the guide book. I do have a 4x4 truck also but it will be a bit tight with the Wife, Kid, Dog and all the other junk (Boats aren't junk just everything else) all the way from Colorado.
I do remember a time with a stuck explorer on an Ark Climbing trip years ago. My van would have been very unhappy if it had been on that trip......
I am thinking of the Tot for sure. but not sure of the other runs yet. Depends on where the water is running. Give me a general idea of what to expect.
Thanks for all the info everyone. Let me know if I can ever return the favor for some Colorado paddling for your guys.

Peter - most of the roads are passable in a 2x4 up to a certain point, but then you'd best get in with a 4x4 or hoof it at some point...
I've got many favorites in the state, but here is a list close to Fort Smith:
Lee Creek
West Cedar
Sugar Creek
Jack Creek
Spirits Creek
White Rock Creek
Little Mill Creek
Spirits Creek
All of these can be accessed by 2x4 vehicles, although Little Mill and White Rock Creek require a hike in.

How about Osage Cr.? Check out the thread on clearing that one out next Saturday. If you love class 3-4 water, help if you can. Hard to beat that creek for excitement when the water's high!

Aw yeah Fish! I was just looking at some pics of Osage. I know I've seen em before, but probably not since I logged a few runs down Ocoee and Richland. Before that it just all looked like big water, but now, I look at it differerently, as in "Heck yeah, that looks like a good one to add to the book!", hehehe.

I believe Renee (sp?) was wanting to try to stand up and surf the wave at Rockport (when there was a wave at rockport) maybe a year ago
