Grant and I emerged last night here north of Mulberry with power for the first time in 3 days and were shocked to learn what had happened everywhere. I don't know how we missed it all, but we had no ice whatesover and couldn't really understand why our power was out. We just stayed home and camped out and when we learned about the rest of the state we were really surprised. It felt weird to be so out of touch with the rest of the world. Well, weird in a strangely enjoyable way.

Still no power for me in fayetteville. Most of power in Siloam is restored.

Man, it sure is nice to be connected with the rest of the world again. My electric went out Tuesday morning at 9:00 am, and it returned Thursday night around 5:00. Phone/internet just got repaired a few minutes ago. I had numerous limbs hit my house. As of now I see no noticeable damage. I think the Ice Shield on my roof was working pretty good. My 5 year old son said he wanted to move to Van Buren because he didn't like Winslow anymore. Like a dumb a$$, I left my chainsaw at work and couldn't even go anywhere because of all the road blockage.

I did however, get some throw rope practice. I had a big limb land across my chimney and threw my rope over and synched with a carabiner and pulled it off. I was stoked.

has anyone actually gotten to paddle any creeks with all these fantastic levels. seems like with all this desruction there should be an up side.

kinda like when the rest of the state is distraught because of huge floods and we're all smilin' and boofin'!!

I hate to hear any bad news from these types of things, but you have to be impressed with Mother Nature. It's a beautiful way to help thin those ozark forests!!

What up BP? On Wed. Tracy,Chuck,Kyle,and I rallied north only to get shutdown on everything we tried to get on! We ended up doing upper spadra and horsehead spillway, but thats about all we could get to given the amount of trees that were down.we are thinking of going into richland tomorrow a.m. and trying to clear the takeout road and earn a scrape down richland!

just checking in! we just powered back up !! my wife will never say i spend too much money on camping gear! that's for sure.. it was 16* for coffee in the kitchen on weds.. cut wood for three days... and made piles for the next two...i still have ice on the drive!...

Went up Friday morning to dig my parents out in Fayetteville, they didn't get power back until Saturday night, their road didn't even get cleared till Friday afternoon.

Big sections of Fayetteville were still without power Sunday.

Hard to get chainsaw supplies too. I bought chains on the way up which was good since my dad had a tendency to hit metal pretty much ends that chain (I hit asphalt at least once, but surprisingly didn't seem to dull the chain much).
But we broke a bar Saturday morning and had to waste time trying to find a replacement. Walmart had lots of 14" bars and 16" chains, no 16" bars or 14" chains?

Luckily while we were standing in Lowe's someone returned a chainsaw they had bought so we were able to get an extra saw and between multiple stores get the right bars and chains for both.

Also ran out of bar/chain oil, motor oil was fine, but it runs through so fast we had to stop every 15 min. to check to level.

At least with the restaurants open after working all day could relax with a beer and Penguin Ed's and a beer and Venetian Inn (almost worth the drive up for the food).
