I think a better question is Has anyone noticed how much fun we all have on his trips?
If you want controversy, what is the best color for a boat? Besides Red of course.

I'll bite!!
No, no not red! Unacceptably high visual impact. There's a study somewhere in my files that looked at the color of boats on some river back east and the perceived impact of boat color on one's "wilderness experience" -- in essence the brighter and more colorful the boat a diminished experience was reported -- it made the river/stream seemingly more crowded. And as we know perception is reality.
Take that RBF!!

Your boat color should always match the color of the beer cans you are hauling:
Red boat = Budwieser
Yellow Boat = Coors
Blue Boat = Busch
Green Boat = Heineken
Milwaukee's Best = inner tube

Red is a good boat color for visibility when one is having to look for one's boat in the river after separating from it prematurely in a rapid. Also good color for a PFD. And a beer can.
Notice there is no "Green Boat Fleet".

Guess I will have to go back to using innertubes for floatation if I ever use it in the cargo barge Endurall. I tend to drink Old Milwaukee Ice. Haven't decided if I will carry a cooler in the Howler when I get around to finally paddleing it. Maybe a small one. I'll ask my bow partner if I have one.

Yellow is supposed to be the most visible color.

In Arkansas, there is one color even better than red:

Bliss-Stick has been playing around with plastics a lot. I seem to recall seeing a picture recently of a glow-in-the-dark boat.

A couple of years back, some people on this board decided that is was better to post only about whitwater paddling and not about any of the other things discussed in the original post. There were some heated discussions and some name calling. Rather than fight, many of the boards most colorful posters decided that it was no longer any fun and decided to go elsewhere. Very few of us paddle 24-7, but all of us have other things going on in their lives that are funny, interesting or just entertaining. That is what they talked about on those threads. Many people lost interest in it when they were told to take their off topic BS some other place. Instead of looking at the board hourly, it became weekely, then monthly and then never. Be careful what you ask for, it may come true.

Mikey - For someone who spent too much time cleaning up flood debris without a helmet, you make a lot of sense. Throw in the fact that you have Peerson genes, and it makes it all the more remarkable.
