I second the crawfish proposal. It would not be a proper Bayou Chapter without some true Bayou food. Let's start it off right.

By the way, I'll help in any way that I can- whatever anyone needs me to do.

I love the fact that everyone is so excited about forming a new chapter. It seems like there's going to be some serious food parties. I just think we would need our board members first, then approach the Mother Chapter for approval. We would want them to take us serious.

It would be really great to get a Bayou Chapter of ACC going. Back in th late 80's, early 90's we had a Shreveport/Bossier area paddling club, Canoe'Sport. It met monthly. Lots of enthusiasm and publicity for paddling. I don't know what happened to it.

I'd be treasurer or trade Lapaddld for secretary. LET'S DO IT!!

So, it looks like Rusty has volunteered to be President, Diona has volunteered to be Secretary and Louis volunteered for Treasurer. So who is the VP?

ACC Board meeting coming up soon.

You guys get cracking!

A petition signed with all the folks wanting to organize along with names for all the needed officers would be very nice to bring to the Board Meeting.

Thanks Dave.

Initially, according to Amos (correct me if I misunderstood, El Presidente) we just need a letter/petition to the board with 15 potential members signatures and a brief explanation as to what we hope to accomplish with the new chapter.

It seems to me that having officers would also be good, but I'm darned if I understand how we're going to come up with officers without having a meeting of those that are interested in order to nominate and elect the officers. Lots of people have volunteered themselves and others, some seriously, some probably not.

Adam, if you're serious about this, do we need to have a meeting of the potential members, pretty quickly?

Why not have an Organizational Meeting... somewhere fun that serves the kind of beverages you plan to have at your future meetings... Maybe some Chapter officers and Board Members from the far north could come down and visit & share how things are/have been done in other chapters. Get your folks, figure out who wants to/needs to be officers, get membership info/checks in hand & ship a letter & info back to Amos & the Board for approval. Hey! And, if it doesn't jell, you still have a fun event & meet folks who paddle in LA...
