Scott,

sounds like you're with FEMA or in the guard.

Got a knotheaded son in B.R. that wouldn't leave. He'll have time on his hands at least through Tuesday. Let me know if you need a volunteer- 318.381.7404 or butchcrain@att.net

Grew up in Baton Rouge and have been in the eye of two hurricanes there, and had several more pass nearby. In a big one, some trees and powerlines usually go down, shingles and such, and local flooding common. But Baton Rouge is far enough inland that things usually go pretty well, providing a tornado doesn't come thru. My 90 year old Mom there is even sitting tight.

Hey Butch, I am in the Air National Guard out of Little Rock Arkansas...a weather guesser. They wanted a few of us to help with all the aircraft movements they are expecting to have after Gustov moves out.

If all goes well it will blow through with minimal ill effects and we will be on our way home in a few days.

During Rita, I was laughing at people Stocking up on Supplies here in Bossier, Then a tree fell on my house. (bad carma) .It took 4 weeks to get an insurance adjuster to call ..The first thing he asked was "what part of New Orleans was Bossier". I told him the north bank...

Hey Scott: I’m an x-weather guess from back in my Navy days, my main job was upper air. Got a chance to ride 3 of these things out on a ship, two at sea and one swinging on a hook in the middle of Chesapeake Bay. Now that was a kick in the pants.
