Pretty sure I had a run in with the same kid several weeks ago. Sitting in the eddie below the 2nd wave, to get away from them diving in and under the top wave, dude came by and told me to share the wave. I could tell he wanted me to get confrontational with him but I resisted.
The rope thing has been mentioned on here several times. I think everyone would be wise to be on the alert for hidden dangers while surfing. It's too bad to have a good thing ruined by a couple local yokels but things will cool off out there and it will be ours again. Unless they buy wet suits.
