Re: Caddo Sat. 5/17?

Seven of us in our group had a real nice run on the Upper Caddo today. The level was very nice at about 6.20ft. when we put-in this morning. Lots of rental and other folks also out enjoying the day, including two or three separate Boy Scout troops. There was quite a bit of carnage out there today with pined boats, swims etc., but no injuries I could see.
It was cool and cloudy enough that I was a little concerned hypothermia might be an issue with many of the folks out there in bathing suits, cotton tee shirts, etc. The one thing I found a bit discouraging today was that one of the Boy Scout groups were all in rented kayaks and their leaders had no plans to ensure all the boys made it down OK, no sweep, no safety. We kind of took care of one little shaver they clean ran off from and left to his own devices. I wanted to catch up to the troop and 'visit' with their leaders, but never saw them the rest of the day.
Thanks to all of you who came along today, it was much fun! Also pleased to meet a new to me ACC member out there, Orange Otter.
Best Regards
Jim
