Re: Hurricane Creek Video
Sam Carr is one of the NW AR boating legends in my book.
Occasionally Sam would pass a metal container of his "Rocket Fuel" around the camp fire.
Never knew what was in it, but man did I sleep good after a couple hits.

Gosh, no!
Sam is one of my favorite people and I sure miss seeing him on the river. I look forward to meeting you soon and getting some boating in together.
I met Sam at Steele Creek on the Buffalo around 1988 and I think he offered me something to eat and a stiff drink. I think he fed me everytime I saw him for about the next 15 years or so. Best meal was roasted oysters rockefeller and fresh asparagus at Turner Bend.
One time he called me and invited me to come by his shop for some bbq. Said he had smoked a pig over the weekend and that I needed to try it.
So I go by his shop and he goes to the fridge and opens the door. He pulls out a cookie sheet with a whole pig on it about the size of a small turkey.
He watched me closely watching to see what my reaction would be. I just laughed and said, I guess there's a story here?
Sam says, "It's one of them God damned pot belly pigs. It wandered up in the yard and hung around for a few days. I asked all my neighbors if it belonged to them and nobody claimed it, so, I shot it and cooked it!"
Tell Sam Dave said hey and that he is missed around the campfire. We love him and wish him well.

Re: Hurricane Creek Video
GN YAKN is correct about Sam and his cooking and feeding anyone who showed up.
One time I headed out to the Hailstone put in friday evening from Tulsa
pulled the truck off the road, climbed in the shell and slept like a baby. It rained that night and I finally woke up thinking I would heat up some water for oatmeal.
Decided to walk down to check the water level first. Sam was parked down there with a couple of his buds eating breakfast at the bank.
Dave, Sam said "I have a bodacious good breakfast DO setting in the truck bed, grab a plate - there's coffee too"
Man, better food than Cracker Barrel and Waffle House combined.
Sam was a good man to have on a river trip for sure!

Re: Hurricane Creek Video
Great video. Watched the entire 25 minutes...twice. Left me no doubt I'm getting me a river boat very soon. :)
