Keep in touch through this forum. And you should consider looking at this forum:

That's where most of the trip will be.

Thanks again,

To please a certain member of this forum I apologize for misspelling “Arkansas”. It was not meant to be a personal slight against your beautiful state. :)
Wait, what? I thought it was Arkansaw!

Jessica:
Don't pay too much attention to the spelling of state names. I come from the state of Iowa, where, cue to a remarkable lack of planning, the state flag designers placed the state name on the flag: IOWA. Unfortunately, due to the fact that flags are traditionally sewn of a single layer of cloth, from the backside, the official state flag appears to be that of the state of AWOI. Hoodathunkit?
Back on topic:
Be aware that there is an undocumented (as far as I know) put in above above the Baptist Camp Access on the Current just below Montauk. Using the Tan Vat Access (What a name!) adds only about 1.5 miles, but it is a delightful part of the river. Putting in up there also gives you a great view of the Baptist Camp horseshoe bend and bluff as you paddle down from upriver.
It is at the end of a short gravel road running south from County Hwy 667 just downstream from Montauk State Park. There is a brown access sign on the south side of the road, but it is hard to see if you're coming from Montauk.
That stretch, as well as the remaining mileage above Aker's Ferry, is deep enough for tandem canoes when the gage at Montauk is reading over 100 cfs. (I haven't paddled it below that reading, but I'm guessing that there would be some abrasive spots.)
Gage is at:

Have a great trip.

Now this is what I'm talking about! Hope your trip is what you seek to accomplish and give us a trip report!
