Since this will be one of the earliest sunsets of the year, I recommend everyone bring a flashlight just in case. Seriously, bring a flashlight.

Do we need to have Hunter Orange for this trip?

It is still deer season and water fowl season so hunter orange will be needed. There will be some hunters in the woods but not nearly as many as earlier in the season.

Hey, I think I'm IN! :lol

But since it is still waterfowl hunting season, we should delay our launch until 2 or 3 PM just to play it safe...

I am not going to be able to make it. Really hate to miss Wattnesaw but will have to catch it next time. You all have fun. Know you will.

Another fun day with great friends from the ACC. Weather was sunny and even though we had to break ice in several spots it was not too cold to enjoy the day out. Lots of laughs, from Minna's disappearing paddle to Liz and Mike's beaver race. Debo and Cowper stopped us for lunch at a circle of huge cypress that looked like something from a magic fairy tale and also showed us the spot where they hope to make a water access only camping spot. Really beautiful scenery all day. Finished the day at Nicks BBQ where we all ate like we hadn't seen food for 3 days instead of 3 hours. Thanks again to all for a really enjoyable day.

My favorite photos of the day. Our group at the lunch stop. Debo and Cowper in the hollow cypress and Liz and Mike in the beaver race. The big splash on the right side of the picture is the beaver showing his displeasure and giving a big tail slap before diving.

Hind sight is 20/20. Wish I had gone.
Cowper, do you have the GPS track for this trip?
