I found some glove like things that Velcro onto my paddle that I slip my hands into. They work great and they are the long style so there is no exposed skin. I went on the Big Maumelle last Saturday for four hours, it was in the 20s and my hands were just fine.

If they are somewhat like mittens that attach to the paddle, they are called 'Pogies'. They look like just the best to keep hands warm and easier to get on than gloves sometimes. I've not used them as yet but many paddlers like them, while quite a few others don't care for them for the difficulty in getting their hands back in during a whitewater episode. I'd bet that would never be a problem for Winter flat-water use quite as much.

Lots of things have gone on. Some random thoughts from the newbie.
Carpenter to Mom's place and back-18.9 miles in 4:46 with one flood gate open on Carpenter. That last mile hurt going upstream.
Bought my 6 year old a Jackson mini tripper. She loves it.
Usually averaging around 4.5mph for up to an hour.
Using the fish hatchery on Hamilton some.
Rivers are so much easier than in my old aluminum canoes.
I ran some small creeks this spring.
I have been messing around catching boat wakes. 9.3 mph off a two V8 boat on Hamilton recently. Rode that from Electric Island to the hatchery.
My brother in law gave me a waterproof box to carry gps, cell, and keys in for Christmas. Awesome but cheap gift I have used a lot.
I still can't roll the blackwater. My big fear about being trapped upside down was totally wrong. Fat guy falls right on out.
Two nicest guys in ACC are Shelby and Cowper.
252 pounds when this all started. 234 now. Only 50 to go.
