hey farpastgone, I wondered if someone had been in the Osage Gorge helping me clear all the wood out. Thanks. My place overlooks the Mushroom and I have been working on the ice damage whenever I can. I am building a great trail that will allow doing laps on the class IV first mile of the run. I am now living above the Gorge, half mile from the putin and can give visuals on levels. Would love to be a part of any future cleanup efforts, and can provide mucho logistics help.

Hey hollohead, I tried to get in touch with you when you initially posted about Osage needing some cleaning. Shoot me an email or give me a call when you get a chance and maybe we can figure something out once it gets a little cooler out.

My email is mkt003 @ uark . edu or 512-eight seven eight-3013

Thanks!,
Matt

Awesome Hollohead! We knocked on the door to the person that lives at the put in, but no answer. Glad to know you are out there! What a beautiful area!

my place provides the only easy access into the gorge about 1/2 mile from putin, can get to the Mushroom quick. I know the owner of the land that encompases all of the gorge up to the mushroom, and have permission to tread wherever.
The owners of the creekhouse are Scott and Pam and great people who love boaters. As soon as its cold enough to keep the snakes away, I'll be back at it.

Glad to see such great landowners at Osage Cr. It's one of the best creeks in the state, and I haven't done it in a couple of years - I'm going to be aiming for it this season if the trees are out. Sorry I'm a bit far away to help with the work (living in KC now). I've cut wood down in there a couple of times before, after big ice storms about 10 years ago. Can't wait to get down there again for a run!

I am a Jones boy. Ther is actually a trail along the south rim of the gorge overlooking the rapids. I dont beleive the gorge was ever logged and has some incredible old growth down there. It has been my personall playground and iI always enjoy sharing this special place. I have a 5 year old boy, and the gorge will be his backyard. we bought land all the way to the creek so we would have no issues on access and so we could develop our own little park area and trail. We will definately want boaters to come and enjoy. I would even supply the beer and burgers for all who come to a workday!!!!!

Hmm... Count me in too. Maybe we can discuss a NWA organized workday at the meeting on Monday?

See "Ya'll" tomorrow...I'll be sitting in a 420 at noon drooling while watching the river come up. I'm just gonna roll into town and ask where the playpark is at :D
