Yeah, you can pull quite a few small mouths out of that stretch. Glad you all had a good float!

Jan,
I think we are going to shoot for Tuesday depending on rrrrrrrr,,,, well the weather. We are in Fayetteville and I think it will be my son(15), a friend and myself with two canoes. You are more than welcome to join us even if you just want to do the shuttle. The only problem is we wont be able to leave here until about 9 due to football workout. I will check tomorrow and if you want to give me a call at 479-387-6008 late afternoon we can make arrangements.
Thanks,
Gary

It is a little over 9 miles and has some good fishing.

Looks like the put in is by the ball field? Is this a good place or is there somewhere else that would be better?

we put in right behind Tyson's, at the waste water treatment plant.right off the road side. on hwy DD . take it to the T. and turn left on EE follow it all the way to 43 hwy @ cow skin canoe.(nasty looking place) and just cross the road is the state's put in... but, cowskin canoe will shuttle you and your car, and park it safe on there location. i have used them for years . the take out is just as you pass under hwy 43..... about half way down stream you come on a spot that has two ways :poke: ( known as eric ,and marys swimming hole!) beware! you will see the willows cut back ....go straight passed it, into the rootball turns, you can make it!!

Great advice and as much as I hate to say it, I hope the weather holds through tomorrow. I am looking forward to the float.

We got ALOT of rain in OKlahoma...what about Arkansas areas like the Kings and Buffalo?

Are they at floatable levels more so than a week ago?

FETTS, the buffalo got a bump above eurbie making the gauge rise at pruitt ....the kings gauge is at the lake end of the river and it's going up. but we are still under a flooding warning on the weather channel and hoping for some more.....

Painterbob, are you headed out again anywhere this weekend? Hopefully it will rain a bit more today and then tomorrow is supposed to be dry.

Lots of weather in the area of the Kings so we had definitely thought about that... not sure what levels are there. Middle Buffalo is floatable again, I think, but that's a farther drive. Never done any of the Illinois. Had hoped for a big rise on the Mulberry but it does not appear that the rain gods have been quite generous enough.

Thoughts? We're flexible. On easy stuff we'll bring the canoe, if something a little more spirited we'll bring the kayaks.

I went over the Kings River at 62 and at 221 an hour ago. It looks slightly up and R-R-R-R is falling off & on. I'll be in Eureka 'til Monday, and would like to tag along if y'all go.

Went to Elk River at Noel on Wednesday. Saw no elk but dodged a few cows in the river . . . it was a nice slow float, tons of fish. May have to go back & catch a few.

Would love to paddle something different this weekend. Will keep an eye out where everyone is going and may come along.
