Thank You for coming yesterday Louis, and your assessment! This is such a long trip that I feel it would be so nice for Scouts or other youth groups when the weather is cool enough to allow for more tolerable camping temperatures. However, I do agree that many of the entrances into the rapids, however small, require ferrys and sharp eddy turns so not to hit obstacles or to broach. With the length of the trip, an over-nighter could easily divide the section and offer more time for good fishing both days and plenty of time for swimming, campcraft, and just goofing-off. There have always been some 'roomy' gravel bars to camp on in this stretch, but with the past flood, some of the bars are just 'lunar' in size now.
Without more rain shortly, this may be about the end of the floating for me on the Caddo this year. But I do hope you all will join me to float the remaining 5&6+mile sections down into Lake Degray sometime
Best Regards
Jim

Wish we could've joined y'all too. Spent most of Sat. fiddlin with a cranky mower. My extrapolation on the level for Sat. was pretty close only missed it by about 0.01'. Look forward to paddling this section with Jim and Co. some other time.
