I don't know if there is an "officially published" source for this information or if it is just Richard's hard work measuring it out

Ken Smith is the one deserving the praise. He is the one who meticulously plotted the miles and laid out the maps for Trails Illustrated and wrote the book on the Buffalo. Both of them. All I did was plot waypoints to match what he had done. Next time you see him tell him thank you. I do every chance I get.
