Managed to take some shots this weekend and was able to turn off the flash to get some good pics. Check them out:

Just thought I'd toss something into the mix to keep the thread going. Yeah, it ain't around camp. Well at least not a gravel bar! Yeah, it ain't whitewater. And yeah it ain't a waterfall so I guess I'm jacking the thread. Guess it could be a flatwater shot if you had to catagorize it. And we did get a butt-kicking when we left for sea after this. You want to get the real deal on "big water"? Try your hand in 12' seas, open water, for an extended period of time with no eddies, no bank (can't even see land), and no let up to sleep in a nice warm stationary tent!

But to the point? I did a review on a little waterproof P&S I picked up a while back on the board. These things can do some nice shooting. This shot was obviously done at night, from quite a distance, 8 sec. shutter. Way out of flash range. ISO maxed. No tripod on hand so I had to set the camera on a mooring cleat and frame it from there. Timed shutter release to avoid shake.

I would love to see the photography angle remain a constant on here. I guess because so many take so many good shots and I'm a fan of eye candy! Not to mention I would like to try to figure how to shoot better shots! Nice results with yours, GN YAKN! The fire looks very nice.
