All due respect to Dale's fine suggestion, but I'll stick to my point at the eddy and yell like a banshee technique. Seemed to work that time.

Seems like a good plan, AND it's not THAT wide right there so people can most likely hear you if you're screaming at them. Problem is there HAS to be somebody in that eddy for that plan to work... I've been through there 3 or 4 times in the last year (not nearly as many as I would like), and each time, as I was making the super easy move through the right slot, I thought, huh, I didn't realize this was coming up, sure wish I had known that about 30 seconds ago. The moves above that thing ain't hard, but I personally take it very seriously because if someone with the skills of a Randy Jackson can end up in there, Lord knows I've got a better than odds chance of doing the same at some point!!

Point is, even if you're boating with people with class IV+ skills, it would be nice to give them a heads up BEFORE the lead in rapid. I know I've found myself in the eddy above every time and had no idea what was coming until I got there. I can only imagine what could happen to a 1st timer or someone who isn't super confident in their class III+ skills, although I'm sure most of them have ample instruction. The rest of us (that tend to be reading and running all the way down) would like a friendly reminder ahead of time if possible ;)
