Re: Patches

I got my boat welded by a professional plastic welder in Greenwood for $50. He took all the outifitting out, matched the plastic, and the color. I thought it was a good deal, forgot to mention it on here. Anyways, my boat cracked in a couple other places and also the crack that was welded kept cracking just on the edges of the weld (although neither of us knew you were supposed to drill holes to head it off). Anyways, I dropped it off at like 5 and he was done with it by 7 the same day. He seemed really busy, but said he was willing to weld boats after 5PM.

Here is their information:

The link should take you to a site with the information if you can see it, but just in case. Here you go:

Mark Eccleston
(479)-996-2204
West Wind & Assocs., Inc.

9825 E. Hwy. 252,
Greenwood, Arkansas 72936

He did a great job, but my boat was done for. Thanks again for that shuttle hook-up on Richland Dennis!

Jermdog - Ryan's got a broke boat that he wants me to fix too. If ya'll come to Fort Smith some time I'll weld it up and we'll get em both done. I've done several cracks and breaks, and they have turned out well. Can't weld cross-linked though.

Will weld for beer...

When plastic welding, it is important to use the exact same plastic
as the boat is made from. Not just the type of plastic but the exact
same stuff. Even the same type plastic from another batch maybe different.

To achieve this, cut slivers from a thick part of the boat to be welded.
inside the cockpit rim is the best/easiest place. from the bow or stern
is another possibility.

Dude Mark from westwind know's what he's doing. family owned buissness. and if you tell him about the crack that he fixed he will make it rite. Also he said to tell yall to save a few bucks take out your own seats cus he welds from both sides. it be cheaper. and faster. ask for noreen.

Thanks for the recommendation over summer rickyrod.

Should have mentioned that by doing all the basic stuff like taking the seat and outfitting out it may end up being cheaper because Mark charges on a per hour basis.

Thanks all for the advice and info. And thanks Zach and Loren for questions of gender and milk jugginess. I've goat a piece of Matt's old Jefe, same color, hopefully same plastic, and I'll get it welded soon then.
