Re: A very sad day for our paddleing community!!!
I am so deeply saddened for Heath and Bobby's family. Bobby always brought a smile to my face. His unbridled enthusiasm. His genuine friendship and willingness to accept others. Whenever I was around him I felt like I was with a little kid who was just having the best time of his life. What a joy he was to be around. He always made my paddling days brighter. I will miss him greatly. I pray that everyone who knew and loved Bobby will be able to find peace in their souls as they reflect on the life and friendship of such a wonderful man.

Bobby was a great, great person that I will miss on the shuttle or on the river.
Wish I could say more, but still working through the sadness and tears.

Wow what a shocker. I didn't know Bobby all that well, but every time I saw him he greeted me with a smile and that made a big impression with me. My prayers go out to Bobby's family.

Just heard about this late last night. Sad and shocking to hear. I spent most of the night thinking about everything from my first trip down the river with him to scenes of Bobby in the hole playing at Dierks long after he should have been just totally exhausted--------still just laughing and cutting up and going on like the infamous "Energizer Bunny." I don't know where he found all that energy, but the few times that I was fortunate enough to share his company were certainly memorable....and in a very good way. No doubt that Bobby lived life in a BIG way.
Godspeed to Bobby and his family, and hang in there Heath. Prayers sent.

Last night when I heard, I was shocked, and saddened. He was a great joy to be around. He will be greatly missed. I have so many fond memories of dozens and dozens of trips we shared together. Watching him continue to play at Dierk’s while I was taking breaks was always incredible. Strength and prayers to family and friends.

Really sad, I was always excited and looked forward to paddling when I knew Bobby was going to be there. His energy was truly contagious and he will be missed. He really came a long way in his boating in a short time. Heath, I know you guys were good friends, Im here if you need anything buddy. Hahns.

He was a pleasure to be around. One of my favorite memories is running Clear Creek in OK with him in the Spring, I feel like he was just as stoked for me to run it as I was, since it had been a topic of conversation for a while. He'll be missed.

Man, this year has been a terrible year for the paddling community as a whole but this one really hits home. I was on that Clear Creek trip and I have to concur, Bobby was as stoked about everybody coming out to play and watching us enjoy our first trip down the creek as he was about running it himself. He was always enthusiastic and just a great great fella. My heart goes out to all of his closest friends and family. I am deeply saddened today. Damn. I hope you're boofing hard up there Bobby, we will miss you greatly.FarPastGone wrote:He was a pleasure to be around. Pix from a recent outing. Really sad that there won't be more with him. That day, I entered what I thought was a short little rapid, but it was long and had a bad ending. Soon as Bobby saw me in it, he started blowing his whistle, and I was able to grab the last and only eddy. Otherwise I probably would have been seriously hurt, facing a very hard wilderness evac. "Thanks, buddy..."
Let there be rain!
