The Buffalo River Valley is has begun poppin off in color. There is yellow, orange and red coming in - green is still dominant - but now is the time to go!

The river was really up at Ponca this morning! I was pouting because there were sooo many people putting in -even with the drizzle- and my canoe was at home.

If anyone wants to float on Thursday, October 15th, from Ponca to Kyle's - please holler! My brother is flyin in from the white water of CO & I roped him in to canoeing! I would love to work out a shuttle arrangement!

Fall colors usually peak about the third week of Oct. They are not bad right now, either (I've been working outdoors for thirty years--a guy tends to notice that kind of thing after a while).

Sat. night in Boxley I heard the elk bugling. What a treat!

You'd better hurry. I'll give the leaves a week and a half before they peak.

Spent all day in the woods today in Newton County and predict this next weekend coming up will be close to full color.
