Thanks LifeJacket. That makes me feel much better. I do understand what dan means though .. i whitewater raft every year in Oregon during AUGUST and that water is SUPER cold!! Ican't imagine being in that water for over 10 minutes without having a total shutdown. I know the begining of summer season is always a little risky on water temp in arkansas. As long as the sun is out we always make it ok.. but when theres a lot of cloud cover thats when the shivers, shakes and goosebumps come out. You guys are the best thanks for all the info!!

Dan, I probably could have and should have worded my previous post better. Hope I did not offend you, I did not actually read but the first 2 lines of your previous post. I just did not want someone to think the water was colder than most streams around for some reason, hypothermia is always a concern when dealing with water.

If anyone knows of the location/access road to the **TUBE** PUT IN point please let me know.

The tube float went great. Thankyou to everyone that gave advice!! In a couple weeks we are going to canoe and can't wait! Ron at caddo river took great care of us. THe water was perfect and we had lots of fun!

What part did you float on tubes?

Its was about a 2 mile float. We went about a mile through town took a left hand turn down a dirt road. We went through a pasture and were dropped off by the river. Its privet land thats up for sale according to the bus driver. Our take out was at the bridge (hwy . **WARNING** at the end it took us 2 hours to go 600 yds. (we didn't mind but others might )

Yes, this is the reason we discouraged the full float on tubes. There are a couple more pools that would have been 600 yds in 2 hrs.

We all had a great/safe time thanks to ya'll. We are going to do canoes next time for a company trip, and that way we will get to do the long haul!!
