Dale - you know I love you like a brother, but I don't know if your paddling skills are exactly consistent with the standards of the RBF.
Having said that, you would have a lot more going for you than just a red boat if you're serious about RBF consideration. Things like habitual bee drinking (not to mention a casual indifference to sobriety in general), chain smoking, natural orneriness, lack of attention to punctuation, love of pyrotechnics, poor grooming habits, marrying above your station in life (and a head cheerleader to boot), and having had a number of life experiences that pretty well give you a sense of living on borrowed time are all traits you have in common with some or all of us. I think you could also embrace the RBF concept that when the grid goes down fat hairy men will once again rule the world.
I'm just one vote, but if you decide to make a move I'll throw conflicts of interest to the wind and advocate for you to my RBF brethren.
P.S. How do REALLY feel about kayaks?

I must confess, I have kwackered in my shameful past, but am now in recovery for 25 years, and have only slipped once during that time. Dale

So...once again: Sorry for my serious brain fart (cerebral flatulence, frontal lobe flatus, whatever). Saw Walter's truck with three nice looking Dagger products on top today. Hoped they had been wet recently.
I have one of Tommy Young's Prophets, completely creek-worthy after a little rehab. My wife keeps trying to get me to sell it, can't see the need to have 2. I figure it may be worth a lot more as time goes by if I don't wear one out before hand.
Dale, don't be hording all the good boats or if you do, at least don't rub them in our faces. I think you are under weight to be in the RBF (DVB excepted). No comment on all the other requirements.

I plead guilty to all but the love of pyrotecnics. As for hoarding boats, I will tell you, right now I have 2 Prophets, 1 Outrage(being repaired), a Detonetor, a Taureu, a Perception 0C2, shredder, 18ft cat, Super Puma(due this week), but I'm looking hard for an Outrage or Prophet for my buddy Andy Monfee(although he has access to everything that I have, plus his own shredder and a new inflatable SOAR inflatable canoe). I would trade Taureu and Detonater for best offer, esp., Outrage or Prophet. Dale

Dale - As for the 25 years part, that's beyond the statute of limitations for everything except murder and past due child support. So unless you killed someone with bounced child support checks that's no problem.
Although I've never even sat in a kayak (I looked inside one once - it was all dark and scary in there), I can't see why the "once in the last 25 years" thing should be a disqualifier either. Although mine wasn't in a kayak, we've all had our indiscretions of one kind or another (see, there was this night in San Francisco ...).
I won't lie to you - the "no pyrotechnics" thing is going to be hard, for your own safety if nothing else. If you go unarmed to RBF World Headquarters and Tora Bora Proving Grounds (in the garage in back of kenny's house), then Pam may be writing
The Paddler's Widow's Guide to Hiking Richland Creek.
Too bad most of the RBF has abandoned this kinder gentler version of the message board, or I'd try to summon the Brethren Court for a vote (and wouldn't OUR pieces of eight be an interesting sight to behold?).
P.S. There's another complicating factor - We had dinner at Cap'n Downstream's last night and he reminded me that he's been an RBF wannabe for years, having auditioned for kenny on several occasions. The Cap'n says if he's not worthy you're damn sure not.
