Cool! One of the new, young, hip, HARDCORE boaters here in Arkansas doesn't think I a "duper". Not sure exaclty what that is but...glad I'm not thought of as one of those (I think).

Anyways, I am stuck at work for the next two weeks so no hole testing for me till then. But as I told you this weekend, I am always looking for things to test the limits and find the quirks of my boat (which I have not found yet). If you have not paddled one, then you do not know what you speak of. Don't be a Hater. I never said it was what everyone should be creeking in. But it is the right boat for many folks. And a full on creeker is too much boat and would make paddling harder for many folks who are topping out on a run like Richland or the Tot Falls.

If I lived in Cali or Colorado would I paddle something different - Most likley.

If I go there this summer, would I take it and run everything I could - You Bet!

Never said I was hip or hardcore but obviously I am under 30 and like to fire it up a bit!I feel quite sure you will test er on the chief and youll probably style it.Unless you make a mistake and then :hammer: time!(Ill be rollin tape just in case)(nat.falls vid revenge  )After all you did slo mo me there bud!Cmon Scott you know Im not hatin, just like to :poke:fun atcha! However I strongly disagree that richland and the tot arent safer and easier for everyone in a creekboat!Creekboats are only too much to handle if you paddle them like a planing hull or playboat, they are minimal stroke/ last stroke boats. If they paddle it enough a creekboat is DEFINITELY the safest design to paddle anywhere! Also creekboats make richland super fun as compared to my playboat or river runner.Tons of boofs, slots, etc.I do however think its beneficial to start in a boat w/ some edge(river runner or playboat) as a beginner on forgiving streams.(helps to develop edge control) Also I WILL be livin in CALI soon and TOTALLY agree that you would switch to a more "full on" boat if you boated there frequently.

Knock off all the hate on the Jackson Boats!!!!!!! Jason doesn't care for them but I LOVE Jackson Boats!!!!!!!!!!! :D Do you have any idea how long I had to wait to get a boat that fits. Jackson was the first to make one that really fit little ole me. Then he came out with the creek boats, mainly so Dane had something to paddle, that fits us smaller people. I have a fun 1 1/2 and have run some pretty decent water in it and love it. My Punk Rocker is like driving a Caddie down the river. Comfy, fast, volume and great for punching holes. Oh yeah and did I mention the fact that I am always dry in my boats, I never have to stop because my boat leaks, :poke: unlike others I know that have to stop ever mile or so and drain their wonderful boats. I ran from Ed Banks to Hwy 4, and went back and ran Ed BAnks through the falls, about 1/2 cup of water all day. On Sunday I ran my (crappy) Creek boat and had no water, no swims, no pins, just fun. So hate on Jackson if you want, Eric must be doing something right since I see more of his boats on the water than anyone else's :poke: . Hope you enjoy your boat and best wishes to you that it doesn't leak like a sieve  . Would rather be high, dry and in a boat made to fit me rather than something that I had to spend days outfitting and aquasealing all the srew holes to make sure it fit and I was dry. Just my thoughts. Oh by the way I have run Roadblock in both of my boats and done just fine, so maybe it was not the boat, but a bad line or others factors. Just don't be such a Hater or I will send you # to Eric Jackson himself.

My boat is dry too.Regarding lines we all know its the paddler not the boat and at least your creeker is a rocker. ( its displacement somewhat and not a playboat hull w/ too much volume for its length aka HERO!)Other companies make small boats too ya know.Amy has a java and they have been around for years. In fact she ran long devils falls in her java on SAT.LL has the chica and the47 remix and dagger has been makin nomad 8.1's for years.(tracy has one and it fits her well.)However if you like it fine, but I still say the hull shapes are generic, the "innovations" are gimmicky like the CO2 reebok pumps, and EJ / jk is way off base tryin to push boats by claimin a record waterfall run on boatertalk/nbc/boof etc. Especially when we all know pedro blew it.As for as EJ send away Ill tell him his boat designs suck to his face.Ill burn him on cheap, gimmicky outfitting/weak designs /unrecyclable boats/etc. In fact I may even tell him he is the only paddler who could turn a boaters dream of a traveling lifestyle into a corporate sh!t show.Guess thats what happens when you want money more than you want to soulboat!

to be Hero or not to be,
I want to take a moment to say I had my Hero before Scott  and love it, yes we all know that I have very limited skill to add any kind of experinced opinion. I will have to say though the Hero has yet to keep me in a hole and I have only pinned it once(this last trip on Richland) and I had to do something realy stupid at that.
I do wish that it came with a sherpa, heater, porta-pottie and maybe an eletric motor(go green) and wheels so that I won't have to set shuttle. If it only lived up to the name I guise then I could just fly... leap large hole's in a single stroke, rocks and trees would bounce off like bullets.

 GO JACKSON KAYAK's  .......................................and any other brand that allows you to get out and paddle.

Dear Boof, I have tried all the small boats. The Java for Creeking and it is a good creek boat, however if you are 5ft tall and weigh under 100lbs you have to put 25 lbs of foam in it to make it fit, and yes I just recently paddled one down Baker it was good but big enough for me to put an ice chest with a 30pack in it and still would not have even made heavy enough to meet the low end of the weight range. It is a good boat but it leaks. The others you mentioned I have not tried. I however did paddle ever play and creek boat made from 2002 to today and the best I have found is Jackson. The company is not just out for money they are out to promote paddling for everyone not just the hairboaters. As far as just making money all have you know that Eric made me a super sweet deal on my first boat. He allowed me to find the right boat for me and helped me to get it and get to playing finally. When I say I tried every boat I mean every boat that was suppose to fit. They where all to big, even the little playboats where to big. So Kudos that you love your boat, I love mine too. All I know is that when I started paddling the only boats on the market that fit were the Evo by Wavesport, Jib by perception, or the Inazone 212 by Pyrahana. I started in a wavesport EZ which by the way has almost as much volume as my creek boat. I paddles Kingpins, Spin, and every other boat I could find. The same problem to big, and full of water after a few rolls. As for Amy and Tracy they are both taller and a tad bit heavier than myself, so I am sure the boats fit them better. As for E.J. selling out, look up how makes your boat and how big the company is, and the profits they make. Say what you want about Jackson Kayaks I still feel like they are making paddling possible for everyone not just the Pro boaters. The kids boats are the best idea in years, I know that you don't have any kids nor do you teach them how to paddle, but try to teach a 10yr old how to roll a boat that they fall out of as soon as it is upside down. How would you feel if you had to paddle a boat that was made for someone 2 to 3 times you size and told just deal with it. Again before you bash anymore you really need to do some more research as to how many boats, money and time they devote to promoting paddling. I haven't been invited in to the makers of the other boats house or offered to stay there either. Be a soulboater whatever that is, I will remain a Jackson boater I know that they stand behind their work and are super folks. Besides do you know what Kristien does? Works to promte AWA and all things paddling as well as taking care of a family. Think before you post all the hate. Paddle what you want and run what you want, just don't knock everyone else. Especially people with manners, and know how to set a shuttle before they get to the river.

I've wanted one since before they were made, I used to check the jacksonkayak.com and I saw their very first true river runner (what they called it), and wanted it instantly.

I'd trade my L.L. jefe for one

Sabrina,If you say they didnt fit I believe you,but amys java is definitely dry.If you didnt threaten to tell ej like a tattle tale I wouldnt have fired back so wholeheartedly. As far as kids go... Brotha muse just put taylor(his son) in a tiny kids remix and it fits great. In fact he loves it.LL also makes a kids paddle. Pretty much all companys promote paddling to all types not just pro's and hairboaters. As far as researching the promotion of paddling ALL the current companys promote paddling in some way or another they are selling boats to paddlers after all right?Without promoting paddling they would have no consumers to sell product too.I ran a shuttle ahead of time for a jk crew at the tot a few weeks back.It was jack at spa and his friend b-day boy.(sorry I forgot your name).Enjoyed paddlin w/ you fellas and thanks 4 the rain bday! Also just before you posted the 1st time I stated no hate just 1 small :poke:in my 1st post. The rest was to try and clarify the line and situation at roadblock to those who didnt know.It escalated from there and was still all in fun.As far as manners go yes mam I got em but I see nothin wrong w/ stating my opinion in an amusing manner!I know lots of folks who have been laughing their butts off! In fact at OBJ everyone at the grand slalom event was enjoying the jk burnfest and again it was all in good fun.Bryan Kirk was even callin the hero a zero and such and he is quite the well mannered gentlemen.Spanke LL wouldnt have you anyway also I am revokin your team green membership you are hereby blackballed.

Look at all the love we've found . . .

I must say I really love my LL playboats (Scooter & Skip) but am unable to find a LL product that fits me for creeking. Chica is just too big for me . . . I am really liking my little Pyranha Burn; it's not a true creeker but because I'm reasonably sure I've "topped out" with Richland and the Tot Falls, I think it will work just fine for me :)

All the hyperbole in this thread goes to prove we have a lot of parity between the top Creek boat and River Runner designs.

My bet is put Shane in a Hero and EJ in a Remix and they would still run the gnar in perfect style and make it look easy to most of us who paddle "true" creek boats..

What just astounds me is how good the top creek/river runner boats have gotten over the last few years. The top rated Creekers from the top manufacturers are all great boats just a few minor things each might has over the others.

Bp loves his burn to Diane. bow seems to have lots of displacment, but your right its not completely full on but most would consider it to be pyranhas creeker before the karnalis and everests came out.And pyranha is all about some planing hull properties(edge).the burn is definitely NOT based off of their river play series' hulls either.I think you and andy do quite well in them but I certainly dont think yall have topped out. Dont think like that,I was just tellin amy how you 2 were firin it up this year! :D And yes awesome boaters will still do great in any type of craft.I just feel like for the rest of us we need all the help we can get when steppin up on harder creeks. Thus my rant about creekboats in GENERAL being the safest choice makes sense to me.Yes I stirred the pot A LOT but I assure you it was all in fun.no harm meant just servin up a fat helpin of my opinions spiced up w/ some :poke: in going on.I think spanke and I kinda stirred all this LOVE up a while back, I think he was just stirrin like I was.He likes to laugh and :poke: too.Thats why I like ya spankster! :D On a real note paddle what ya want, you'll see on the river there is no hatin, maybe a lil pickin but no hate I assure you.I enjoy paddlin w/ pretty much everyone involved in this whole back & forth and hope to see ya'll soon. Its my b-day on the 4th and Amy's on the 5th so we'll try to bring ya the rain!
