I don't know, but it is spooky to me, 'cause the name posted was billkennedybill. A guy named Bill Kennedy took me to Richland Creek for the first time, and I thought cancer got him. Now I'm wondering...

The truth is, some of us got really scared watching this video. We were scared our vintage video with dubbed-in voices was going to be next...
Let the dubbing begin . . .

You comments on Bill Kennedy brought back memories of fun times boating with him, Cowper.

Bill actually lived in Tulsa when he passed on, not sure how long he lived here but I amp pretty sure he was born in Arkansas.

Bill was a really good person and a good boater as well. Another case like Drifter of a good man taken away from the paddling community way too early.

Cancer got him. His sister asked me to help her sell some of his gear as he had a bunch of stuff.

Not sure of Bill's age but I am sure he hung out with all those guys in the video I know he and Max Wellhouse were good paddling buds. I will look at the boaters again and look for Bill's red hair.

Cowper, Bill K was my cousin. Met him once at family reunion (insert McMurtry song here) back in 91 or 92. I had my boat on my car in anticipation of getting a rockport session on my way home.

Bill told me he was a paddler and we started comparing names and of course we shared a lot of paddling friends. We sorta made plans to paddle together some time but it never happened.

He didn't do the reunions as that was the first one I had ever seen him at. Wasn't but a couple years later (I think) that he passed away.
Small world, huh?

I know Bill was the first person to run the Turner Bend Landing and probably the last- In a Mirage I think -could have been a Dancer -He slid off right - a good move - and then hit the bottom 7' takeout - He was sideways and we thought "OHSHIT" He is gonna leave his shoulder and hip joint on the landing... But with the majic of a miraculous bounce - Instead of leaving his shoulder behind he landed on his side in five feet of water. Try it it if you want!!!! Geo.
