So is it my imagination, or does my car coast down the hill slower when it is 14 degrees? Seems like it to me. up to 5 mph??

Renee, you got me. I wasn't actually expecting a lowered price. I hope that doesn't mean I'm obligated to buy it. Although after seeing Scott paddle that XXX for so many years I might buy it just for nostalgia.

I did send him a serious PM about his other boat if you could perhaps talk him into logging in. Or better yet maybe you can get his login info. and negotiate with me instead! I think I like your haggling better! :)

I guess I could tell you about last night's wet dream --

In my dream I parked my car at one of the many paved parking lots adjoining Richland Creek and took the 4-foot wide pea-gravel trail down to streamside passing many improved campsites along the way equipped with picnic tables, grills and meandering foot-worn trails skirting the hillsides. When I reached Roadblock I dived into the water to take a closer look at the seive and found that the rock was sitting atop a coffee table. I could just envision someone getting pulled under the rock and getting wrapped up under the coffee table and unable to get out. So I filled the underside of the coffee table with a stack of rocks to close the seive. Mike Bynum was there to offer some assistance while Scott and Renee looked on. Meanwhile Cowper was just downstream at a rapid called "The Door" because it's entrance was in fact a door -- the creek literally came to a wall and flowed through a set of offset open doors -- kinda like a enclosed foyer. He had that devilish grin on his face and said something about "wouldn't it be nice if Roadblock could be set up here in front of the door so that there would be a bigger drop as you entered the rapid". I thought to myself -- no way, the rock is too big to budge. But Mike pushes the rock and it goes rolling downstream like a marble narrowly missing Billy to come to a rest right where Cowper wanted it to lie. Billy joins up with Cowper -- they boof off the rock and go paddling downstream through "The Door" rapid. Mission accomplished I head back to my car where a motorcycle gang is pulling up and lugging coolers of beer down a set of steps to a nearby campsite.

A dog then laps at my hand waking me up to start a new day and leaving me wondering "what does this all mean?"

The board has been kinda dead lately - no fun hot topics to talk about anymore. How about a nice thread debunking the hype of manmade global warming and exposing the real agenda behind it all? Well, aint supposed to talk about that here cause it's a canoe club. But hey - you can talk about it here on this new board...

All are welcome.

Ya some people made there own forum not to long back when this one changed layouts and began getting censored and dull. The climbers (my brother included) are going to be pissed at me. but check out the supertopo forum, you can talk about anything and its really really hard to get it censored!

Real dream or not, I recommend you continue with the acid regimen as planned...my only request is that you keep writing stuff like that on the board 'cause that was freaking entertaining!

I can't believe no one has used the O-word this week. Figured there'd be a thread there for sure. Or maybe it got deleted before I could see it...

Plenty of ways to get arguments and creative discussions going on this board (and other moderated ones). You just have to be more creative than "calling you a brainless Republican would be redundant" or "if global warming exists it's caused by the hot air emitted from liberal tree-huggers". Instead you have to weave subtle insults and insights into the on-topic discussions to sneak them past the censors. Granted that takes real cleverness and skill. But on an unmoderated board, insulting someone or their stupid ideas is like shooting fish in a barrel. So go build your own little barrel if you want, or quit whining here and make something interesting happen... like this thread. :)

GK - although we all know the RBF has always promoted harmony and sober discourse rather than confrontation, this does seem important to you. So, in the spirit of Clubness I accept your rhetorical throwdown challenge - here goes:

You paddle like Crane, smell like Fish, and tie knots like Ranger Rick; the Farrelly brothers are thinking about calling their next movie Dumb, Dumberer and Gordon; your inside voice sounds like Marcell's when he's excited; the RBF laughs at you behind your back; Gaza residents took up a collection because they took pity on you (do you like your hummus with or without phosphorus?); Debo accidentally saw you naked several years ago - when she came to her hair was the color it is now; Queen For A Day rejected your story because it was too much of a downer; on one of your better hair days you look worse than Dale on the morning after a night of bee drinking at Funston with The Short Republican; and ClearChannel called - they're out of billboard space and want to know the name of your butt's leasing agent (I negotiated free space for ARG's new "Bigger is Better" raft safety campaign).

(I pulled some punches because I didn't want to get too personal - next time I'll try to show less restraint)

Anyway global warming is not caused by hot air coming from tree huggers - not many of those around here anyway.

Manmade Global warming is caused by hot air coming from bankers and their minions. Like this children's book from David de Rothschild. Propaganda for children - dammit.

In case you might be wondering who David de Rothschild is, here's a little background info:

David Mayer de Rothschild (born 25 August 1978) is a British adventurer and environmentalist, and head of Adventure Ecology, an expedition group raising awareness about climate change. He is the youngest of three children of Victoria Schott (born 1949) and Sir Evelyn de Rothschild (b. 1931) the Rothschilds banking family of England. His middle name "Mayer" is taken from the name of the founder of the Rothschild family banking empire, Mayer Amschel Rothschild. Source

Now THAT, Arliss Dale, is a scary image (hold that thought for your next B Paddlin party). Good thing the relationship between Pam's eyesight and memory is inversely proportional.

P.S. Wouldn't "Dr. D and the Funston Bees" be a good name for a band? I'll add it my list (in no particular order):

Persistent Drought (h/t to GnYakn)
Lassoing Baboons
mumble mumble scratch (h/t to kenny)
The Fermented Pumpkin Drunk Squirrels
Crazed Uranium Savages
Backyard Peacocks (h/t to Anna Nicole)
