Great meeting everyone! Was good to put faces to the names I've known for years. Had a really good time and enjoyed the facility and the delicious food.
Thanks for listening,
Brian
Rebecca enjoyed it too and hopes to paddle with you in the future....

Once again, I had a great time. I like hearing about things that do not necessarily get discussed in depth on the message board and seeing paddlers from all parts of the state. Always wonderful putting faces to names I haven't gotten to paddle with yet, and seeing those that I have. Every board meeting I've been to has been unique and productive, but this one seemed to flow very smoothly and as always, if you went away hungry or thirsty, it was not anyone else's fault. Awsome food and drink selections. Walter Felton's duck was great as always.

The new Lake Fort Smith lodge is very well constructed and the park staff should get high accolades for what they have created there in the welcoming atmosphere of their management style. It is a very well run park. While I have liked all the locations we have met at (particularly Dave and Cindy Robertson's Farm and the activities there), I think the lodge at Lake Fort Smith worked very well for a board meeting location. There was still room in the dorm sections for several more folks. I did miss several faces at this gathering, notibly Arthur Bowie and Mike Cholino - I know - you don't HAVE to come now, but you were missed as well as many others. I hope to paddle with them and many others not mentioned in the coming year. Again, thanks for a great board meeting to those who did it all behind the scenes, and look forward to future ones. I felt funny not doing more with my neck being what it is, but everyone pitched in whenever anything was needed, so there never was a void and the entire weekend went very smoothy. Came back home like from a river trip, sorry that it was over. IF you have never been to an ACC board meeting, you don't know what you are missing.

Hope to get Susan to this park someday to check out the trails and maybe paddle there. This park has so much more to offer than what we got to see during our meeting there.

And who would have thought that Cowper could have done a blowlog in that place?

Nah, that was just a little "puff" log...

But not many fireplaces are big enough to allow even that indoors.

Yes, this was a great venue. Even though I didn't personally take advantage of it, I really liked the fact that the cost of an overnight stay was within reach of even those who are very budget-concious. This should make it much easier for those that want to influence club directions to come and participate.

Everyone,
Lets give Cowper a round of applause on volunteering to become the newest member of the ArkLATex Chapter...!!! :P

Kidding of course...

Seriously, it was a great time, not just for the fantastic food, or the great camaraderie, but also to see and hear how our membership dues are going to help protect our rivers and streams and our rights to paddle the same.

Congratts to all the new and existing members of ArkLATex, glad to have you aboard!
