I'll be there, Heather, with my 10' kayak. (And my paddle! Yeah! And one of those grabber tools that is so much fun to play with.)

I'll bring a GPS, but could probably pick up 35 pounds of trash in the time it will take me to remember how to work it.

Awesome! This is great...we had a couple folks who had unexpected things come up who won't be able to make it...but now we also have a few more volunteers planning to come! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

See you all at the park at 9am!

Surfpup's not coming, just I. Would you rather I bring my rec kayak or use one of the park's tandems to carry more trash? 515-3422

Success!!!

10 hearty souls braved the Feb 7th weather conditions (you know, 72 degrees and sunny :D ) and helped clean up the Little Maumelle. Hey, it was tough out there...I think Karl, who was wearing shorts, might have gotten a little sunburn on his legs, and Mike Stanley was getting close to dehydrated!

Amongst the items we hauled out of the river were a tire, a GIANT piece of plastic sheeting, the gas tank to a car, and an amazing assortment of balls. Let's see...we had footballs, soccer balls, baseballs, tennis balls, various non-descript rubber balls, and basketballs. All told, we pulled over 15 garbage bags worth of trash from the waterway.

I am so thankful to everyone who came out and lent a hand: Karl, Carl, (confusing, yes?), Rob, Pat, Mike, Liz, Andy, Stan, and David. Thanks also to Michael S. And Susan T. who couldn't make it but who gave us loaner boats! You all ROCK!

The Ranch branch does not even look like the same waterway now...just a stunning difference!!!!

That is awesome, what a great job ya'll did, I can't believe someone would toss a gas tank out, but hey maybe they lost it while in route. Tmuse

Good cleanup day, and a well organized trip. Enjoyed seeing what had been accomplished on the way out. Good going Heather. :D

What a great job. Congratulations to everyone for volunteering their time. What a great way to represent our club, make a very visable impact on our waterways, and have fun being on the water. Thanks to Heather for taking the time or organize this. I hope we will do this again next year or sooner as needed. It will be interesting to see how much we take out the next time.

I'm not one to lather on praise or reveal my admiration of others -- but I can remain silent no longer. Paddlers come and go but folks like Heather, aka Lupe, make a lasting impact. Her sincerity, integrity, and willingness to assist others is commendable. Thank you Lupe!! The ACC and our streams are better places to be thanks to you.

And obviously I am grateful to all who spent the time to extend their care to the Little Maumelle. Thank-you too!!
