Floating 3/24 or 3/25
Anybody doing some floating within a reasonable drive from Clinton or interested in doing some. No whitewater due to the lack of a skirt/helmet, but I have my XP 10 now and I am itching to get it wet. Just lemme know on here or text/call me at 501-253-0139

Know this is a late posting, and I'm at least 3 hours from Conway if you do the legal speed linits, BUT
A few of us going out tomorrow at 10AM from Monte Ne on Beaver Lake in sea kayaks. Got a spare sea kayak and gear if you want to join us. We leave pretty much on time. We bring food for a smorgasboard lunch, and haven't known of anyone to go hungry yet. Didn't bake anything for this trip, but got some good cheese and pumperknickle.
My house is on HW 94 SPUR (outside of Rogers, out New Hope Road end of HW 94 -just do not turn left and go to Horseshoe Bend State park where HW 94 makes a 90 degree left at the Monte Ne Chicken restaurant - go staight and you will be on 94SPUR) The "OPEN WATER 1000 FEET AHEAD" sign is at the far end of my yard. Take the first drive to left after the sign to park in my yard.
My cell is 479-721-9101, but I turn it off and put it in the ammo box once we put on the water.
Have one good friend of a friend who got a phone call from her grandkids in Switzerland while paddleing on the White river with us below Beaver Dam at full generating levels. Still wonder to this day if those kids can comprehend what their granny was paddling when she took their call. She did tell them that she was sea kayaking and it was cold here too, but she went to the far bank for some privacy after that part. Don't have a problem with other folks talking to their grandkids like that, but folks usually can't reach me on the water unless thay come by boat. I imagine it would be very neat to have a scientist grandmother like Pat. She is very much like my father's mother in some ways, just without the swedish accent, and I always thought I had the best grandmother. Pat can't go with us tomorrow because she is preparing a lawsuit.
Hope you can join us some time. Thursdays is our usual weekday trip, but we vary it from week to week depending on the forecasts and who has off. I've missed more than I have made this year, but I always have a good time with these folks, and we never leave anyone behind, (even me to my chagrin).

Re: Floating 3/24 or 3/25
We did 12+ miles today with David Dempsey in his Prijon Kodiak and Warren Cunningham in his wooden Chesapeake light craft that he built, going from Monte Ne to near Hickory Creek, back north around the islands across from Horseshoe Bend, and then back to to ends of Monte Ne Cove past the ampitheater in about 4 hours.
Picnic lunch at a east bank old home foundation and chimney on the way back. Not sunny, but delightful temps Wednesday with the winds picking up on the way home. Only had the winds in our face for the crossing back across the main channel to Monte Ne cove when coming back from around the islands. David and Warren were nice enough to wait for me to take some pills on dry land in a lea cove after the crossing, and then I was out of pain, so we did a few extra miles.
First paddle in a few weeks due to the weather and my neck. Hope y'all had as much fun as we did.
