Indoor Climbing in NWA

What are the options for indoor climbing in NWA? I am aware of the HIPER facility at the U of A. Has anyone used the La Casa Pollo gym by lake sequoia?

never been there, but you can go to lewis and clark or packrat. They have different days and times set aside to do it.

I have not been to La Casa Pollo in years, but they had a pretty good setup with lots of routes.

You should give it a shot!

There is a new(ish) one in Springdale. The ozark bouldering gym I think is what it's called. From everyone I've talked to, it's way nice and beats the hell out of the chicken house.

La casa pollo has a lot of great indoor bouldering and top rope and richard also has a pretty tall outdoor wall and a "great" zipline if he will let you use it

I would not recommend Lewis and Clark or Packrat for a serious climbing session. Both walls are smaller than the HPER's wall. At Lewis and Clark, youll probably be sharing the wall with a 12 yr old birthday party. I think the wall at Packrat is primarily for testing out shoes, harnesses, or other gear before making a purchase. Other than that I've never seen anyone really climbing there.

If you're located in Fayetteville, La Casa Pollo is a great place to train. It's located about 15 minutes from downtown Fayetteville. The hours are alittle squirrely, it's closed on Mondays and open from 5-10 on weekdays. The hours are 1-7 on weekends. LCP has over 16000 sq ft of climbing, both indoor and outdoor, including a 75 foot outdoor tower. LCP has indoor bouldering, as well as rope climbing if you want to clip some bolts. Springdale gym is limited to bouldering only. Price wise, LCP cost $7 a day, and Springdale cost $10 for a day pass. La Casa Pollo has alot more routes, and usually alot fewer people.
When its no good for getting outside to climb, LCP is a great place to get a good session in. If you're ever looking for a partner to roll out there with, shoot me a message.
