New to Cadron/ Need info

Post by old mo omd » Sat Mar 20, 2010 8:00 am

My first post so be gentle. Got a new XP-10 and want to try it on a new river and have noticed a lot of posts on here about the Cadron. A buddy and I want to make a long two day float from 124 down to the Arkansas? Is this too nuts/ far? Any helpful hints and possible places to camp would be appreciated. I know most of it is private land and I don't want to piss anybody off. Thanks.

Old Mo,

I'm not the authority on the Cadron but have floated it enough to think that 124 down to the Arkansas River would be too far for a two day trip.
Perhaps 124 down to 285 might be better, it would still be two pretty long days for me as I'm getting older... I just know others who float it more will respond and also offer some camping suggestions and water levels to consider.

Best Regards
Jim

What Kreuger said about 124 to 285. As far as camping, you could probably land at the CCO site and camp. John might see this and give you permission. Below there is one sandbar I remember on river left that if you landed and stayed by the river and were very quiet in your stay, you might get by w/o a hassle. Best bet is CCO.

I had never seen much posted about the river below 285 so I kinda wondered about that. May alter our plans a wee bit. Thanks for the info.
