This was covered in a segment of 'Burning Time' from Scott Lingren Productions several years ago. (click 'movies' at the top for a header menu of his videos)

At the end during the credits, they show another segment with a guy in a Dagger Kingpin. Apparently the Kingpin wasn't as adept at flying, he flipped and couldn't roll it back up. Ended up having to go for a high altitude 'swim' and if you watch closely, you can see the kayak freefall out of the shot towards a busy highway and small town. They don't show it hit the ground, but rumors are that it landed in a field narrowly missing the highway and some buildings.
