Anybody know the distance from Scottsville down to Dover? Guessing its about 6-7 miles...

Measuring it out on Google Earth just now I get 9.3 miles, with some potential variation on the + side depending one which channel you choose. The "best" channel may not be obvious in a couple of cases.
Lotsa bends in that river...

Keep an eye out for trees across the creek. Don't run the channels blind in that section.

i used to float it and fish years ago i would say 9 or more miles it took all day when we fished let me know if you float it imformation would be helpfull im wanting to float it again its been around 12 years sence ive floated it im sure its changed some i dont remember which channles to run but back then the wrong one led into log jams

Cowper had the winning answer. It is 9.3 miles and maybe a few hundreths of a mile more. That is bridge to bridge. This is one of our training runs, so I have GPSd it several times.
