Saw "The Art of the Steal" tonight, great documentary on "the greatest act of cultural vandalism since World War II" against "the single most important American cultural monument of the first half of the 20th Century."

Classic case of government corruption and lobbying powers over-ruling legal documents and making decisions based on the best interest of money, not the greater good.

Ironic the Philedalphia Philies' name is so close to philistine.

I try to catch that one, Matt, sounds engrossing.

Hometown makes Jones lead story with training for end-of-the world-scenario. This stuff, the propaganda war, social conditioning and dumbing down (if not intentional - certainly a by-product of our toxic world & education system)must be responsible for our collective cold hearted moral callousness.
Training the public in police brutality to shoot the starving...wtf? My father informed me of the recruitment for this civilian force that has been happening in local church congregations (they may be misleading about the large % of this force w/police backgrounds). Religious volunteers for this seem to share the, "kill em & let god sort it out" mentality. Dad was recently playing golf w/ one of these volunteers - this man got a call during the game informing him of the plane crash in Austin & another in El Paso? After hanging up he said, "terrorist have crashed planes into buildings in El Paso & Austin....we need to go over there & wipe em all off the map". Another Christian volunteer has an answer to the Guatanamo Bay problem, "just a bullet to the head will take care of that problem".

So hard to let your beloved pet thread go, isn't it... Let it go, V, let it go... go into the light, little thread. Go into the light.

:sniff:

Are you a moderator? If you can't bring anything constructive here, just get off my cloud.

Me, a moderator? Have you read any of my other posts? :-) I'm at least as likely to have a post deleted as you are! I'll be the first to admit that I'm bringing basically nothing constructive to a thread that brings nothing constructive to this message board... other than a humorous diversion (in which case perhaps I have at least tried to be constructive). :-)

But I'd like to moderate the moderation. This is a public board, and the powers that be may choke down on things if us plain folk don't try to keep it between the lines ourselves. I don't want that crap to happen again - I got in the middle of it once, and once is enough.

If people insist on persistently trolling with political/religious or other controversial posts, even if they're appearing to play nice themselves, they're baiting in those who won't play nice. And that will cause a great moderation and wailing and gnashing of teeth. And the powers that be, who command the moderators, will grumble and debate the removal of message board freedoms - just like has happened several times before. Believe me, that sucks.

I know you may not know that, which is why I'm trying to drop hints. I've had fun with you on "your cloud", but if you don't know when to call it quits, those who are moderators will likely erase your entire cloud, which includes several of my semi-witty posts upon which my ego is based. And I will be sad. :-)

I'll look forward to your other threads, possibly even some that are at least within shootin range of on-topic. ;-)

Constructively yours,
Fish

Ok, all though I have fought it as long as I can, the forces that rule the universe have sucked me into the Super Massive Black Hole this tread has become. I have read this tread for several days now with considerable enjoyment. I regret you were moderated! Not sure what you said but don’t take it personal for you are not the first! And thanks’ for the You tube of Beyonce she is almost too hot for this board. I must admit I do love me some Beyonce videos!!

But I have a question “V”. Do you have an issue with this board or the law of our great nation or all of us or what? I’m just curious it’s rare to run into someone on this board with such anger towards his fellow man! I’m sure there are plenty of anti American, anti Social web sites out there for you to post on. We are all just fine with paddling, camping, hiking or even enjoying a cold one sometimes. Just a fun loving bunch that likes to enjoy nature while floating down the river! But the diversion of this tread has been most entertaining! But please keep it clean or the MAN will likely moderate the entire thread!!

Please keep in mind there are young children and young family members reading this board. Be respectful of others and they will be respectful of you!!

I didn't take anything Vernon said as anti-social and certainly not anti-American - he's just worked up about an idiot politician(s?).

Where are all you feaux liberterians and free speechers when the "anti-American" label starts getting tossed around?

Fish I knew you where secretly moderating this board :poke: LOL, V you should take it from me and chill out everyone gets moderated at some point on here it happens and albeit it is frustrating sometimes, 99.9% of the time folks are just trying to keep the peace and trust me I have been there done that and fought the system but sometimes its better if we focus our will towards making it rain and going kayaking. I mean it could be worse, you could be a whitewater kayaker living in Lafayette, La. And folks don't want to get off your cloud they want to move it, to the Richland Watershed, and make it rain, then we could paddle and drink beer and solve the worlds problems by the light of a camp fire :).
