OT Ignornance
Re: OT Ignornance
Isn't it just the cutest thing when conservatives or liberals get all scared and confused and pretend that they're libertarians.
I strongly suspect that if we could get through the think veneer of tinfoil and do a brain scan to see what the pseudo-libertarians-of-the-moment at CPAC are thinking, it would be: "I support personal freedom for those who agree with me, but I want really tough laws governing all the other idiots."

I too have enjoyed this thread. Kind of makes up for all the cold weather which keeps me indoors by the fireplace.
The only thing I have to add is if the rate of federal spending of money borrowed from somewhere else continues at the rate of last year, you guys need to post all the off topics you can now.
When China calls in all the US Bonds they hold, my bet is the internet openness we all enjoy now will go away.
Chance of snow later this week in Tulsa and 22 degrees when I rolled out of the sack this morning to take the auzzie shepard out for a whiz break.
Global warming at it's finest!!!!

Re: OT Ignornance
Nothing to do with global warming, chalk up the increased snowfall in the Northeast/South to cyclical patterns in the oscillations of sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean which shift the jet stream, moisture regimes, and temperatures throughout the continental United States. Someone from the Pacific Northwest/Vancouver area could easily make a statement like, “This global warming sucks,” since they have had record high temperatures and the snowfall has been so light that they are having to truck it in for the Winter Olympics.okieboater wrote:Global warming at it's finest!!!!
ENSO is a very dynamic weather maker and affects large portions of the globe. In South America countries on the Western side of the Andes are experiencing major flooding while those to the East and Northeast are going through record droughts. In turn it is leading to an energy crisis in Venezuela because Hugo has done such a great job diversifying the nation’s energy assets (70% of the countries energy comes from hydroelectric power), but that is beside the point.
Here is a cool article on Global Warming and how people's perceptions and beliefs play into the scheme.

Anyways do not fear, the snow and frequency of snow in and around America this winter do not affirm or deny Global Warming either way.

Dang right! What a good shift it has been!Nothing to do with global warming, chalk up the increased snowfall in the Northeast/South to cyclical patterns in the oscillations of sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean which shift the jet stream, moisture regimes, and temperatures throughout the continental United States.

Great idea. Obviously, I haven't a second thought about sacrificing my image for my issues (thick skin & some might say head).
In defence of Jones (albeit heavy on conspiracy) has anyone heard the following? http://www.itbusinessedge.com/cm/commun ... /?cs=39536" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://autos.aol.com/article/dui-car-wouldnt-start" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Contrary to the above referenced underlying brain waves of "pseudos," anyone can see our central core value reflects the opposite.

Re: OT Ignornance
Don't take it personally Vernon - there's enough funny from all sides here to go around.
I understand your beef with the mayor - he wasn't very articulate and it's galling.
I don't pretend to understand the constitutional interpretations of the interaction between the public and the police. But it seems to me that we the public should attempt to DEFER our rights to the police in those circumstances so they can get a tough job done efficiently and more importantly safely. The rub is when a few of them forget that it is a deference on our part, not some cowboy authority they give themselves, that makes it work.

Music again? Listen for the extra bass playing w/ lead in NAD. Saw em in a club venue in Lawrence, KS. It looks like Muse has been over at Alex Jones site too
