Gravel for Cadron Creek shuttle road
I understand that there has been some discussion about the ACC buying and spreading gravel on soft spots along the private property road into the new Cadron Creek access. Has anyone actually contacted the landowner to see if he is interested in us doing this? I am told that a few hundred dollars worth of gravel would make a lot of difference. I'm thinking the Central Chapter should offer to pick up the tab. Consider this an offical motion at the next Central Chapter Board Meeting (assuming the landowner wants it).
If someone has already initiated this then...............nevermind.

Nevermind... At the last meeting (in November) a Motion was made to authorize the President to spend up to $500 in his discretion (and with the advice of folks who may have info) to up-grade the access to the new Cadron putin... Now, as to the status of those improvements, our esteemed President will need to advise us all...

Re: Gravel for Cadron Creek shuttle road
I have a tractor with loader suitable for grading and spreading if needed. Only about 10 miles from there.. over the river and thru the woods. Let me know if needed.
You sure this is on the right channel?

Re: Gravel for Cadron Creek shuttle road
I left a message on Mr. Weidower's anwering machine a couple of months ago about the gravel and did not get a response. Shortly after leaving the message, I presume it was Mr. W who put the rocks in the softest spot. David needs to contact him directly with the offer at this point and set up a work day if Mr. W is agreeable.

I may be available to help out, I would certainly like to help. It just depends on what day this happens and if I have to work. I'll try to stay in the loop.

Re: Gravel for Cadron Creek shuttle road
Ahh, after nearly a month off-line, due to a defunct modem, I'm back now :)
Early in the first discussions about our new put-in on the Cadron, I'd not yet been there, but I did shortly afterward and was really pleased with Mr. Weidower's farm, pasture road, and willingness to allow us to access the river from his place. I do think it would be a nice gesture to suggest that we'd be willing to spring for some road material, and situate it, if it should meet with his approval. From what we've seen, it does just look like some material in a couple of low spots would be sufficient. The one low spot nearest his pond looks to me like the most slick place , and a small culvert could do well there in addition to shunt the water on downhill.
Clif, I most certainly appreciate your offer to spread the material with your tractor! I made this offer too initially but have an older tractor w/o loader.
Best Regards
Jim
