Richland Creek Road Repair - Update
Called the contacts at the Forest Service today and got "the official word" on the Richland landslide repair. They already seemed very aware of how important this one is to us, and were very helpful. Here's the update:
*The project will officially be a Federal Highway Project (vs. Forest Service).
* Bids will be requested in March, 2010.
* A winner will be selected, and Bids awarded in April, 2010.
* Construction is expected to begin in Late Spring or Early Summer, 2010.
* It is "hoped" that the construction will be completed in late 2010.
* Since weather, continued movement of the landslide, and the successful bidder's repair plan are among the things that may affect the construction schedule, the completion date can not yet be accurately predicted. (This last is me summarizing the issues, not a direct Forest Service quote.)
