Buffalo trip HW14 to Rush, day trip, 11-14-09

We will be setting shuttle on way over, to leave Noonish from HW14, if anyone wants to go along with us. So far just Susan in the Skreem kayak and Mary and I in the red Mad River Endurall canoe.

IF you are looking for us, we will be leaving Susan's Honda Accord at Rush, and carrying boats in our old blue/grey Sububan

WE (Susan, Mary, her dog Chloe, and I) all had a great time. Beautiful short sleeve weather. Saw guinea hens, a few fish, turkeys, deer, beaver, three bald eagles who stayed in sight soaring off of ridge lines for over 20 minutes, and a lot of turtles, and one sea kayaker who was paddling up stream. With all the leaves off the trees, the bluffs were much more prominent

Don't know where everyone else was, but hope they had as good a day as we had.

While I like ACC groups to paddle and camp with, it did make it seem more special to have the whole river to ourselves. Water was 4.0 on the gauges at HW14 bridge and we didn't touch rock anywhere.Took us about 3 hours to drift and paddle some and we were sorry it had not lasted longer - until we drove home after the shuttle to get the Suburban. Dinner in Harrison was very good, but made us drousy. We all made it back safely still going to ourselves and each other "what a great day!"

Did it again - took the camera and never took a shot.

Stepped outside my house about 9:30 yesterday morning and said

"AW man! You should be with Eric!"

Knew it was going to be a perfect day up there. Shame on you for not taking pics!
I've felt the touch of healing hands, neath the willow trees and birch, cause the water's my religion, and the river is my church. Kenny
