Crutch boy, blunts, the BCS, and the wave that ate a Big Mac

Post by Big Daddy D » Mon Nov 09, 2009 11:54 am

If this post sucks, it's not my fault.

First, Crutch Boy would like to thank everyone who helped him this weekend. A big round of applause to James who carried my boat to and from the river and helped me get in and out of my boat. Also to Renee and everyone else who made it easier for this one-legged paddler. It was great to be back on the water (and big water) after 2 months off. Went to the doc this morning and everything still looks great.

Second, I will be cutting kick-a video shortly, but I wanted to give you a sneak peak at some of the action that went down this weekend.

Our man, Jason, is definitely a fast starter. As Sabrina can attest, he likes to fire it off quickly. He was throwing down some big blunts on his first rides. http://www.vimeo.com/7519299" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Scott likes to feel things out a little more. Read the water, get in the mood, and then tear it up when everyone else is dog tired. Here's just a little taste of one ride. Not bad for a guy who's only been paddling 6 months. It must be the boat. http://www.vimeo.com/7520890" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Wister now moves to the top of the BCS rankings as the champ of the waves. The human polls and computer polls both moved Wister into the top spot with its big performance this past weekend.

See the recap here: http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/575447246dufUtx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Finally, after a long day of surfing kayakers, Wister Wave was getting hungry. When Jeremy got on there it was just too much to resist. Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese on a Jeremy Mackey bun. Ol' Wister had him a Jeremy Snack. http://www.vimeo.com/7521109" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Well, that was all I could scrounge up for a Monday, but I will put together a very tasty video in the near future featuring many other paddling stars.
