Any Texarkana area folks paddled the Sulphur River?

Post by CaryW » Wed Nov 04, 2009 3:30 pm

Hi all, I am in Mt Pleasant and want to paddle the Sulphur starting around the Talco/Cuthand area eventually to the I30 area.

Problem is access and shuttle and the remoteness makes me a bit uneasy to be going solo.

Anybody ever consider this river? since I am off Mondays I tend to do rec touring type paddling.

Here is my favorite hidden creek that is about 3 miles from home.

This is White Oak creek that feeds into the Sulphur.

If anybody likes the exploring end of paddling I would love to have a second person in the boat on a Monday.

Gary,

I once lived in Mt. Pleasant. Once floated the Sulphur. Still do. Email me at guadalupecanoe@gmail.com. Thanks.
