Mark, I think a buddy and I are running Lee tomorrow. I'll know more later in the day, but it'd be a blast to paddle with you guys again.

Mark,

You and Haydon need to bite off Richland Creek Saturday. It's not the hardest river but top to bottom it arguably is the state's crown jewel of WW streams. Should be mid to high 3's.....a great level for a first time down. Almost surely where I'll be as well as about a 100 other paddlers!! Call me 501-944-0480

I plan on trying to be out of LR by 8:30 at the latest.

Will this work??

I have been wanting to catch it for years, but has never worked out...easter, halloween, ect....man, families can be a big speed bumb in paddling :hammer:

Waiting to hear back on a time to leave LR. Probably around 7-7:30. We are coming back to LR (vs camping) after the run but not sure what time we will make it back.
You can give me a shout @ 5o1.425.7o70 later tonight if you want.

hey mark, good paddling with you the other day (week).

DAMN im on the fence...i CANT be back past 5:30. As much as I want to risk it, I dont think I can make it....but if we leave at 7:30....

My only risk is what time the people that know the river are wanting to get on the river. It would have to be no later then 10:30 im guessing. We dont know how to get there either.

Lots of cons....and one BIG pro

any advise?

Will this work??
I'm leaving Conway around 8; many will be congregating at the put-in around 10 or 11. I'm predicting an unusually high concentration of Richland veterans tomorrow; we have a "perfect storm" created by the combination of water on Saturday, Barton's party located a few hundred yards from the put-in, and a relatively warm day (by winter paddling standards...). But more folks tends to lead to more river stops, more play, more lolly-gagging, maybe even (horror) scouting...

So with that kind of day, nobody is going to want to rush down the river to take off by 2:00, which is about the latest you could take off and reliably make it back to LR by 5:30. The drive is probably 3+ hours from the take-out, plus time to load your boat and change clothes.

Your 5:30 thing needs to be rescheduled! :poke:

Where are you guys going to be putting in on Richland Creek? The Richland Creek Campground or that bridge on 32?

Never been down it, but got a new kayak that needs some new scrapes!

Putting on at 35.7741 -92.9882

Which, according to Google Earth, is also known as County Road 32, although I never knew that until just now. Not many road signs up there...

FYI, those coordinates can be pasted into mapquest, google maps, google earth, etc. Any of these programs will recognize it as an "address", so you don't have to be a gps user for the numbers to be helpful. I like using that method of identifying places because there can be no misunderstanding of street names, addresses, which landmark to turn at, etc. If you're at 35.7741 -92.9882 you're at the put in, period.

Richland can fix that, for sure! In fact, Richland can correct that "no scrapes" problem for boats, helmets, paddles, knuckles, elbows, faces, and many other body parts...
