HOLY $HIT!!!!

Post by Tie Dye Surfin Guy » Fri Oct 30, 2009 7:19 am

Just saw a breaking news headline that said there were like 20 people or so stranded on top of the bath houses at Byrds on the Berry and the rescue teams were working to get 'em outta there!!! Gauge shows the Berry at like 16 feet!!! Hope everyone gets outta there safe!! Anyone able to take and post photos of the flood?

Dang man. What a flood. 3 Search and Rescue got swamped in a flat bottom boat I heard. They all made it out alive, but just barely.

Swimming at night in pitch dark on a 16ft mulberry. Just imagine.

yeah, that would be scary. i have to wonder about using a flatbottom boat in those conditions, although having the perfect equipment handy would be a longshot. anyone know if they have motorized rafts in their arsenal?

Here is the radio traffic from last night. Seemed like quite the ordeal.

Still looking for some pic's of this one. I haven't seen anything on the news sites, I think they were blocked out. Gonna have to find a resident or a "participant".....at least everyone is allright.

Found this http://www.mcrecordonline.com/index.php?id=3884" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

but I liked the "real time" chatter on the radio ham website even more...

It seems the Mulberry may now have a problem , from the camp grounds down there may be lots of thing in the river , like campers , or parts of campers , no one has been down it yet so not sure how much junk will be in the water , it's just not in the camp ground anymore , first one down will know ,

So, what is the rest of the story? I saw Turner Bend posted today no rentals due to river clean-up. What became of Byrd's camp, etc?
