roger, hope we paddle together soon, would like to try it.
i noticed that water quality in the photos and would be curious what kind of land management is happening in the watershed. i think most streams would have similiar if not for dirt roads
Wolf Bayou tomorrow? Lance/Cowper peek inside!
Re: Wolf Bayou tomorrow? Lance/Cowper peek inside!
Most of the accesses we spotted were 4-wheeler. Wasn't until we got to the last mile or so that we hit the "floodplain." Even there, lots of trees still standing with most of the fields having some sort of greenbelt between them and the creek.
Lots of bluffs on either side (some steeper than others) with no signs of logging. The road into the put-in has some cultivated pines that looked relatively young. But that was further up in the watershed.
By the time we were on the creek, all the waterfalls/minor tribs feeding into the main stream were clear as glass.
NOt sure of the land management practices, but I can do asking around. When I can find some time.
