Stohlquist "brik" vs the "wedge"...... HELP

Post by reedo » Wed Sep 23, 2009 2:56 pm

I am looking for a new pfd and I think I have it narrowed down to these two. I have checked all others and most of them come in that two size fit (ex. sm/m or L/XL) and I cant get them to fit right.

Does anyone have either of the pfd's and what can you tell me about them.

THANKS!

Yeah, the atral jackets dont fit me very well...dont kow why but they fell like they would ride up. I dont like the fact they dont come in each size, just the L/XL

I have the wedge...my only complaint would be the small pocket. I guess that's part of the low profile thing though. It's comfortable and has served me well. I'm planning to switch to an astral green jacket soon though. lol

The Astral PFDs (or Life Jackets now/again) come in XS/S, M/L, and L/XL. I do agree that not everyone fits into the Astral. The Stohlquist Brik has been around a long time and for a low profile jacket, I highly recommend it. Also, it has dropped in price this year. There is a new jacket out there from Stohlquist that I think will out perform the Brik, Its called the Rocker, however, it also only comes in S/M, M/L, L/XL...Best bet is to try them all on, then make your decision. Remember, though to allow enough room in the Life Jacket to accommodate winter paddling gear. Happy Hunting.
