Jack creek this afternoon

Post by ebell » Fri Sep 18, 2009 7:48 am

two of us would be interested in jack creek this afternoon. We haven't ran it before and would like to go with someone who has.

Does anyone know if its still a go. I heard that the ozarkpages guage may not be the best indicator.

thanks
eric

It should be there this morning, maybe this afternoon. Sugar Creek might hold a little better.

If you decide to run Sugar Creek, make sure that you get a good look at the last bridge you cross so you will know when it's coming up. They did some work to the area and it's much easier to see it coming now and there is a big eddy, take out on river right and carry around the bridge. When you get to the Knoppers Ford bridge, take out on river right and carry around. Also, the trees have been cleared out of Sugar so it's a much safer run now.

I didn't run it this week, so maybe someone can speak up if there is any new wood.

I know some folks that will be running Sugar Creek this morning. Right now Sugar is 2.2 and rising (good level). I'll try to post the level for Jack and Sugar early this afternoon.

Heard that Sugar Creek is clear of wood, no portages but the 2 bridges.

Good chance that Jacks will be going this afternoon.

Nick Hobbs is talking about going to run Sugar Creek later this afternoon. He would be a great guide if you want to run it. Nick's number is 4 79 414 four 864.

thanks for the info. I need to work out a babysitting agreement with my wife. Hopefully it can be done in time to head out.

I am going to see what the level is on Sugar creek, and then decide if I am going that way. If I do I will be down at the campground at 5:00 for a quick run. Nick

Level at 3:00 was 1.75. They said it was a good run.

It looks like it will be on the low end for this evening...
