Is Zach Bramhall any relation to Doyles I & II?

Don't forget the guitar solo contest and/or the "build your own boat" competition (eco-friendly, please). Bonus points for taking your guitar and/or boat with you across the zip-line.

This will be the first official Boogie on the River at Byrd's since the mid 1990s. Jody, we're looking forward to hearing your new band. 8)

What kind of music will be playing? Country, bluegrass, rock?

If it's anything like the Harvest Fest at Mulberry Mountain, I'm in. We had a blast there, and at Wakarusa.

Anyone know if this will be a dog friendly event?

VAN MORRISON
wishes his band was as cool as Jojo's Kitchen

VAN HALEN
songs will likely be attempted during the guitar solo contest

CAMPER VANS
and RVs are welcome to plug into our 100 sites with electric and water hookups at no additional charge

Premiere local talent featuring rock, folk, and blues. Yes, it's a dog-friendly event (on a leash please). Bring the kiddos too: 5 and under are free and 6-12 are $5. We're shooting for a fun, laid-back event with something for everyone, right on the river.

FREE TICKETS for the next 3 build-your-own-boat contestants who PM me. Wacky designs a plus. Boats must float at least 200 feet before sinking.

Note: They must also be safe, eco-friendly, and fully removed from the river at the close of the contest. Appropriate PFDs must be on hand for each contestant. No glass. Paddle craft only/no motors.

We're heading that way in a few. Looking forward to hearing the music.

Look for us. We'll most likely have the big red magic carpet out at our campsite, and will make some mean breakfast burritos in the morning. Stop by for one, and a tin cup of coffee. White nissan truck with white covered campershell.

What a lovely set up they have out there....we had SO much fun in a great laid back environment. The zip line is a scream and the music really great! the Chip Andrus Band rocked for a solid two hours....some of you may remember my brother in law Chip as the Reverend who tended to Jim Sartin's River Funeral.

The rain should be clearing out by noon....should be another lovely evening to get out and enjoy some great music down by the river!

Amy and I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Great music, I've definitely got a few favorite bands to watch for now. Chip Andrus Band was incredible the first night, I would have loved to see them do another set on Saturday. Isayah's Allstars really finished off the weekend with a bang. So much energy there! I know there was music even later (I heard some great jams going on just before the sun rose), but staying up past 2am is about my limit anymore :)

We talked to lots of people, and if we ran into any of you let us know. I was the semi-hippie looking guy who couldn't dance, hanging out with the hot chick who looked like Demi Moore (as she was told a hundred times this weekend).

This will be on our to-do list next year. I hope it continues.

Any word on if this event is in the works for next year? I hope it was successful enough, the music was fantastic!

Glad you enjoyed it. It was just like the "Booger County Boogie" days having so much talent on our stages again. (Jojo's Kitchen rocks!)

Yes, we're planning another Byrd's Boogie and other events featuring regional bands for 2010. We're working on the dates, so check our website for updates (http://www.byrdsadventurecenter.com). Let us know about local bands you'd like to see.

P.S. here's a clip featuring Charliehorse onstage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oERaoZEbQoY

Good to hear you folks are back on track after the flood. What a night!

Nice video/promo for Byrd's. Am suprised there's no video of you playing guitar while ziplining in your kayak! Huh!?!?
