Beaver Lake Cleanup September 26,2009

Post by Eric Esche » Fri Aug 21, 2009 5:58 pm

I talked with Alan Bland with the Corps of Engineers office in Rogers the other day when I stopped by to get a copy of the Aquatrail location points and he asked me to let the ACC know about this year's clean up on Beaver lake with a handout. Here it is, as closely as I can type it.

Schedule of events for 2009 Annual Beaver Lake Cleanup
Saturday September 26th, 2009

7:30 to 8:00AM - Registration
Volunteers can check in at 7:30AM at the launch ramp at one of the following parks -
Prairie Creek Park
Hickory Creek Park
Rocky Branch Park
Lost Bridge Park
Supplies and lunch tickets will be distributed at the check-in.

8:00 to 11:30AM - Cleanup
Volunteers will be directed to areas of the parks and shorelines that need to be cleaned.
Volunteer boaters will be available to transport participants to areas not accessible by road.
Volunteers will remove all accessible debris from along the shorelines and inside the parks.
Do not dig up items or attempt to bring in tires or large chunks of styrofoam. Instead, please make a note of these items so that park rangers may remove them in a safe manner.

12:00PM - 2:00PM Lunch and Festivities
Lunch will be served to volunteers around noon at the Praire Creek Park Grand Shelter. You must have your lunch ticket that you were given at the Check-in.
Live musical entertainment will be provided.
The "Most Unusual Find" contest winner will be announced during lunch.
Volunteers will be entered into a doorprize drawing to be held following lunch.

For more information, please call the Benton County Solid Waste District office at (479) 795 - 0751

I'm interested in helping out, Eric. May take mom and mohawk. if not, can I borrow a perception for the event? If I still had my old flat-bottom, i'd motor out to clean up. :(
PM, Email, or call, you know how to get aholdt of me.

Eric, I am going to forward this info on to our fly fishing club. A bunch of us have boats and we havent done anything besides fish, as a group, in a little bit. Need to speak with Mr Bland about the mono recycling stations as well.
