Boatball On 9-26-09

Post by Ryan Center » Mon Aug 24, 2009 7:03 pm

I heard a rumor that the water is flowing over the dam at West Fork. Can anyone get a visual before Wednsday, I hear a lot of people would rather play there?
Thanks, Ryan

Would there be enough interest to play this weekend on Beaver Lake?
There will be a Secchi Day event to promote the public to take an active role in water quality. And would anyone be willing to run a booth to promote the ACC?

I can't make the Wednesdays so I'd love to have a chance to play on the weekend. I might have to work Saturday but I can call in. They give me ten occurances before they fire me and I have zero-point-zero right now. I need to start managing those occurances. Any kayaker with less than eight occurances is obviously letting his life slip away!

If I work at all, it will be till 1:30. Might talk them into 11:30 without penalty. I'm flexible, though; I need to get my boatball fix! I also need lake time to work on my roll. I switched from a 45-degree to a 30-degree paddle and my once-bulletproof roll has completely left my body. I might as well be using a tennis racquet. Ryan helped me diagnose a roll problem a while back so I'm hoping he can work his magic again.

Anyone else have a time/place preference for a weekend boatball game on Beaver Lake? The day-use area at Hickory Creek is wonderful and usually has lots of people so it could be good exposure for the club. It is $4 per car if you don't have the season pass, though.

If no one reports on the level of the west fork, I will drive down and take a look at lunch tomorrow.
