Sorry I missed you guys. I took my new 9 and 3 month old puppies for an overnighter Friday night and figured I wouldn’t subject everybody to that. They are not as well mannered as Coochie and Brandie were. I went up Friday morning and was home by noon Saturday. One night was enough I was up most of the night with the dogs and a raccoon that would just not leave. I think from now on I’ll take one dog at a time until they are trained river dogs! Pictures Pictures I want to see pictures!

Sweet!! Looks like the same guy that was at Jackpot Bluff. Someone has been feeding the one I saw he was not in the least scared of me. And had by mesh trash bag not been tied in my boat he would have made off with it. Pesky little buggers! Both dogs slept through it all. Not one bark even when he woke me up tring to make off with the trash bag. Pretty funny just not very restfull!

Wow,
What a great weekend we had.
From the begining with MtnGal and Richard and his wonderful grandchildren.
I sunk the canoe just after put in! (200 yards maybe from launch area) Thought for a moment, I could just pull up to a nearby gravel bar and rearange somegear and change into my swimsuit. I stepped out of the canoe into deep water, the only thing to grab was the side of the canoe, which you know was the wrong thing to do. Didn't tip it over, just sunk it. Thank goodnesssss for the inventors of drybags. Then at warp speed I threw all gear on to the gravel bar and emptied the canoe of H20 and repacked it once again. The only thing that got wet was my billfold and I didn't store properly. Hey, no one even saw me do this! Maybe it didn't really happen? NOT
Floated on down to the others and we made our way down to Spring creek, where we had lunch and played in the water for a while.
We then scouted out ahead for a great camping spot. This was just down from Spring Creek access. Oh yes, we helped load up Mtngal as she day floated only with us. I very much enjoyed meeting and visiting with her on our float. I had almost lost my voice by the end of the day. Maybe next time her better-half can join us also. I know in her heart she wanted to go on down and camp on the rocks with us and float out the next day! Maybe next time!
The night was wonderful. I had a great teacher in showing me the stars by using a laser light to point out the different stars and planets. The aliens could have seen the laser light from somewhere around mars or jupiter, I'm sure. What a laser light you have Richard!!! I believe it is a surplus NASA light that you have obtained.
During the evening we told stories about life and about the events on the river past and present. I had a quick overview of the leave no trace rules and even after my lesson, I still left my footprint of where I slept. Sorry Richard!
Sunday morning, we all awoke to talk about the nocturnal army of beachcombing Racoons. Which went thru Richards screen and into the childrens sleeping quarters to the smell of food. I can't believe that racoons don't like M&M's though.
I left Richard and grandchildren around 12 - 1 Sunday afternoon still on the gravelbar camp site, to float on down to Hwy 14 bridge. I did so with a new (lite weight) water stick which I am so very proud of.
Had a Blast ! Just wish I would have brought my daughter with me as she would have fit right in.

We have Mike Beebe to thank for the laser light. And I agree, it is quite a light.
Looks like the same guy that was at Jackpot Bluff.
It could have been because we were camped not too far from Jackpot. We had at least three raccoons visit us because at one point I shined my flashlight (not the laser) in the woods and saw three sets of eyes glowing back at me. I should have taken a picture. I did get a picture of one set.
Quiz time! What is it? http://community.webshots.com/slideshow ... Position=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yes, I do wish I (we) could have camped out with you all. Would have loved some tutoring on the night sky. Now Brett, we didn't see it. I didn't get any pics of your "incident", so it might just could maybe be you are just a tad embelishing the event
Hey, if you swamp and no one sees it, did it happen? My other half is improving, but still having trouble getting around....getting the boats off the car elicted a few well thought out words from him.
